Here is the 9th installment of our graphic novel The Agencies: Frontiers.

This is the second to last issue for the series, and it is intense!

Without issuing any spoilers, there are two character deaths that take place in this issue, both of which are somewhat shocking and unexpected. There is an extended use of The Carousel, famed torture device of 'The Nine' which focuses on tickling the female genitalia for hours on end. There are broken ticklees, screams of laughter, mericless tickle torture, and pleading for mercy. And all in the span of just 12 pages. This was another fun issue to write. We have a whole lot of amazing tickle torture crammed into one issue. We're sadly nearing the end of the series, but we may as well see the series off proper!

The tables have turned.

'The Nine' have all the girls right where they want them.

It is mass tickle torture on a large scale. And it is unbearable.

In summary, this issue has:

  • 12 interior color pages
  • Includes a color cover
  • Pencils/Inks by Jose Sanchez
  • Colors by Toonfed
  • Letters by Ramoskaiju
  • Written by Oblesklk
  • Directed by Oblesklk
  • Implied barefoot tickling in stocks
  • Genital tickling with feathers
  • Genital tickling with vibration
  • Genital tickling with tiny brushes
  • Forced orgasms
  • Genital tickling
  • Genital tickling
  • So you may have heard this issue has genital tickling. If you don't like this, skip this issue.
  • Three encyclopedia entries
  • Second to last issue of the series. Frontiers was always meant to be just a 10-issue graphic novel, so only two left, including this one!
  • Sneak peak at our upcoming Spring/Summer releases!
  • Costs under $10.00 if your purchase qualifies you for our maximum discount, or just $12.95 as a standalone purchase!

I hate to see this series end. It's very under rated and I feel like you really found your stride with it in the last few issues.

I have really mixed emotions with this series. In terms of finding high quality, reliable artists, it's been the most cursed series we've ever had, and that's saying a lot :) I think we've had 5-6 different artists taking this series on in just 10 issues. That's...really not a good sign. I'm just glad you guys have been patient with us and stuck it out. If we do more of these (see below), I have learned quite a bit from this series that I don't care to repeat again.

Besides the above point, I had always intended on keeping this one just a 10-part series. The reasons were fairly straightforward: it was a parallel story with The Agencies. I wanted to expand the universe, without distracting too much from the plotlines we had going on with The Agencies. It allows us to introduce new characters and provide some critical plot points not easily explained if we just were running The Agencies. I hope that point becomes a little more clear after #10 hits the shelves. There's a lot that is packed into that issue. Regardless, characters that survive this 10-part series will rejoin The Agencies universe and we will no doubt see them again. I just love these characters too much to just let them collect dust after the series ends. So yes, I suppose that's a bit of a spoiler that at least one of the characters from Frontiers will survive and join the other cast :) We lost two of them in this issue #9, so you never know...

Having said all that, I would also love to do more 10-part graphic novels like this series. I have ideas for two more peculating, I just hate to publish anything about them until there's something to publish. But I have ideas and in some cases scripts/character descriptions. It's usually about finding the right artist whose skills I think are a good fit for the series. I don't make it a secret that I'm really picky on who I work with, and while that bodes well for the quality of our product, it also prevents us to kicking out "just ole anything" just for the sake of it. So I hope you guys keep being patient with me that sometimes these series take awhile to develop.

We have the same art studio that did The Agencies #22 doing both The Agencies Frontiers #9 & #10. They may be a good candidate for taking on a new graphic novel series, if you guys enjoy their work.

Hate to see this series go, but it's gotten really good. I hope it has a happy ending.

This issue was really great, loved seeing prety much the entire crew tickled like that lol. Anya's part was amazing, i've been waiting the whole series to see it. Good job

The promo on ruthless was interesting, too, can't wait to see that.

We don't always excel at happy endings, but for long-time fans of our comics, you will be pleased with The conclusion of Agencies Frontiers #10.

Thanks for the kind words on the issue, we appreciate it.

We have story arc climaxes coming up this year for Frontiers, The Ruthless, Hunted, and The Agencies. It wasn't planned that way, but it's pretty nuts how pivotal 2015 is going to be to the various storylines. Can't wait to share them all!

So I'm confused; is there genital tickling in this issue?

EDIT: On a more serious note, since this will be only a 10 issue series, will you be considering releasing it as a graphic novel collection at some point in the future, or will you leave it as individual issues for sale?

Point taken. I'll try to make the marketing more clear next time.

That is a great question, and one I wrestle with all the time.

I would love to start packaging up groups of books at a heavy discount. The Agencies Frontiers #1-10 would be a perfect candidate for such a deal, as you observed.

Pro
Gets the books into the hands of readers cheaper and quickly. I really, really like that.

Con
I don't want readers that purchased the books at full price to feel ripped off. I think that most people kind of get it, that people are more or less used to paying a premium for content immediately, then it will reduce in price over time. I just want to be careful of that.

If this is something people are interested in, I would love to start selling bundles of all our products at a discount. Let me know if you're interested, or if you think it's a terrible idea. I'm all ears.

Its about time with Agencies...feels like I have been waiting a decade:)p) for this part of the storyline to conclude or progress. I can not wait to see it. But now on to more somber issue.

R.I.P Madame 16 and Alyson. Ya were not good people....but it is always sad to see nice ticklees go. And what a shocking reveal to see that the Liason was the real mastermind all along. I actually like that aspect, she is a boss that gets her hands dirty, even if a bit dangerous on her part. Was there a hint or something in a past comic that hinted this but I never noticed? I bet there was you sneak Oblesklk. But now I wonder what the world the final pay off will be...and how long I must wait.

God, it definitely feels like a decade. I have cautious optimism that the series will regain some momentum after a series of behind the scenes oopsies.

No, neither one were particularly good characters, which is largely why both met their end.

There were not really critical signs of The Liaison, just little oddities placed here and there. Given her role, I think the cover of The Agencies Frontiers #3 is even more powerful now...it truly shows the square-off of good versus evil, with evil having good right where she wants it, yet appears weak because of the ropes. And that is truly the Liaison's power, is infiltration and manipulation. One of the subtle signs was she was the only one to survive an attack from Alyson. The Liaison claims Alyson let her live on purpose, because she had information for Agent White. But logically, the story doesn't make a lot of sense. If Alyson really had her at her mercy, she could've done the interrogation herself. As it turns out, the story is a complete fabrication. The Liaison just wants to split the party up, as she knows how dangerous Agents can be when paired up. So she purposefully broadcasts herself climaxing to the girls outside the house in order to create little rifts between them and Agent White. Then she convinces White to split the group up and leads them directly to her fortress. While split, she contacts Alyson to essentially kill the others (Agent Shield and Tess).

She plays herself off as sweet, innocent, and not very powerful. She even gave herself a simple title "The Liaison" to insinuate she was little more than an errand girl to the organization to lull others into a false sense of security while she figures them out.

But even with that, I wouldn't say there were strong signs of this in the earlier issues. Subtle signs, at best.

Looks great! I wnna pick this up when #10 comes out and read both at once. I hope it's coming soon???

Thanks :) Pencils are finished for #10, inks are almost wrapped up. Colors will start next week most likely so we will likely see a summer release for this one. I sure hope so, as you guys have been very patient in the continuation of this series. I really appreciate it, and thank you for your dedication to our work!

Oblesklk you sly subtle dog. Well played.

Thank you kindly!

Frontiers #10 is out now, and with it, the end of this series. I hope the subtleties made the read enjoyable, as well as all the tickle torture going on throughout. It feels good get this series behind me, I'm not going to lie. There were a lot of production issues with this one. But I'm glad it's done, and I hope the payoff was fun :)
