The Cyriaan Chronicles #9 will be available for sale July 12th!

To see The Cyriaan Chronicles, along with dozens of other tickle torture comics, go to www.the-agencies.com

Lost One Zero has done an absolutely amazing job in making The Cyriaan Chronicles #6-8 a reality with his distinct style and sense of whimsy. He has left a strong impression on the series and brought a lot of the older storylines to the present with his pinups in CC#8. For that we will always be thankful to him. We see his departure from the series not as an end of an era, but the path from beauty, to beauty.

And with that thought, we have a new issue of The Cyriaan Chronicles set to release this Friday. The series continues with The Cyriaan Chronicles #9.

While The Cyriaan Chronicles #1-5 are standalone characters, #6-7 are choose your own adventure kind of books, and #8 is a pinup collection featuring all the Cyriaan girls, #9 is the start of an epic adventure. This will be the first of many issues that comprise a single storyline. It will involved many familiar characters in additions to several new faces. We meet Chersti and Ylie as they end their turn at tormenting the Pixie Queen in the forest. From there, opportunity knocks and Chersti answers!

Jon Essex brings us the start to this wonderful story, and we can't wait to share it with you.

In summary, this issue has:

  • 13 interior color pages
  • Includes a cover and pinup
  • Issue offered in hyperlinked PDF format
  • Lineart by Salo
  • Colors by Crimzon Studios
  • Written by Jonathan Essex
  • Directed by Oblesklk and Jonathan Essex
  • First issue in a longer story arc, much like The Agencies #7 launched a continuous storyline for that series
  • Beautifully cartoonish rendering of characters you've known and loved for years
  • F/F tickling
  • Features fairy tickling where the fairies are the ones on the business end of a feather
  • Revenged tickling
  • Bare foot tickling
  • Copious amounts of upper body tickling
  • Our favorite goddess, The Ruthless, makes an appearance along with her minion
  • Swords & sorcery comic book beset with ticklish laughter
  • Continued learning/practice of tickle magic
  • Sneak peak at our upcoming July and August releases
  • Costs just $12.95 !

Here is the page 1 for The Cyriaan Chronicles #9. For those that have followed the entire series, the scene might be a little familiar. We continue where The Cyriaan Chronicles #5 left off: Chersti and Ylie were being tormented by tickle fairies when Chersti was able to turn the table on the Pixie Queen in order to expedite their escape. That's where we start our story here.

As the forest tickles continues, we also see a familiar face poke his head into the scene. It looks just like the masculine version of The Ruthless (see The Ruthless #1). Hmm...

One of the things most fans enjoy about comics in the modern "age" is continuity. The overarching story; the build-up of characters; the longstanding friendships, rivalries, enmities, and romances. That archnemesis was just the villain of the week once, but now it's an event when he shows up!

It wasn't always this way, of course, especially in the Golden Age of comics. Each issue was fairly self-contained and little effort was made to keep a continuous, coherent story going. It isn't bad, it's just not the norm nowadays.

This was more or less the situation when I twisted Oblesklk's arm to let me write Cyriaan Chronicles (at least, that's how I remember it). Each issue was its own story. We'd seen a few characters pop up more than once, but these were rare. I had a plan brewing to change that and, thankfully, Obs allowed me to do so. And, of course, there was the matter of bringing in that special someone from the other comics. (I'm being ambiguous so as not to spoil things, but readers will know who I mean.)

So this issue is the first part of that master plan, to tie all the pieces together while adding more besides. It's going to be a wild ride. Join us, won't you? :)

After we completed The Cyriaan Chronicles #5, the series was stuck in a limbo of standalone stories. This isn't the worst thing in the world, but it's also nice to tie all those loose ends together and create something that resembles a big picture plot. We started flirting with this notion a tiny bit in The Cyriaan Chronicles #8, in which L0Z created a series of pinups which tie a lot of the older character together and give them a consistent look. That was a great intro into this notion.

Then Jon comes along and just blows the concept out of the water with his idea of having THE character (you know, the cosmic one that just sort of starts mucking around in everyone else's storylines) visit Cyriaan and initiate an epic quest, thus tying Cyriaan into the main universe storyline as well.

The thing I like most about the potential here is how much we can bear about old characters to bear and really flesh them out in new, exciting, and ticklish adventures! There are characters I absolutely love from past issues of The Cyriaan Chronicles that have been lost due to taking part in a dead-end, standalone story. So now we have this amazing opportunity to dust off these characters and bring them life again.

I can't wait :)
