I pay you in lent, fair enough? 😛 Your mother sounds like a wise lady, but it's not really that bad. There's always Skype, so you can call each other over the computer. Two of my best friends are online friends. We never met, although they're talking about moving to Sweden one day.
Two cats are nothing. I can easily go and get an army of over a hundred cats. Not joke. Oh, and I have many pens since I lose them often. So yeah!

This is getting personal now but my best friend went and did the back stabbity thing on me about a year ago. I hope you haven't been through THAT with the friends you do have. As for "best" friends... not like you need to rank them, but there are a lot of awesome people here like I said before... so you may be lucky, and at any rate I wouldn't mind being your friend. =)
I know where you're coming from. It's kinda the same with me IRL, although I'm a lot more open when I'm around friends - plus I have a chaotic streak to my personality, so I end up doing crazy shit in public despite being a bit of an introvert! 😀

*serious-mode on* You know, I'm a bit like that with forums too... I post up a storm, but then I don't really connect with anyone and gradually go back to lurking. This is an awesome community though, and I have made a ton of new friends! That makes coming back to post so much more fun, ya know? 🙂 Plus, it kinda helps that the content of the forum is relevant to my interests! 😛

LOL! You're perfectly right. I did the same thing... In fact, the way you just popped up kinda reminds me of myself. I decided to go in with a bang and people ended up thinking I was someone they already knew who just changed their username... I had over 1,000 posts in just a week! XD
