altogether, i have jim croce, beatles, UB40 (although it's warped and won't play), peter paul and mary, dire straits, james brown, benny goodman, bessy smith, and dinah washington. i'd love to have some skinhead reggae/rocksteady/ska stuff because that's my favorite, but i don't know where to find any of it.

my record collection is small so far. i probably have around ten LPs, but i just got my record player for my birthday in may. i'm expecting it to get a lot bigger as long as i'm living in this dorm because the record store is right down the street.

YES! it's brothers in arms. maybe i didn't give it enough of a chance, but it totally sounded like flock of seagulls and modern english had procreated. which is not how i like my music to sound.

i don't buy cds often. i have an ipod, though, so i buy mp3s. but i've really only bought records lately.

the james brown album i got is "james brown plays james brown". it's his big band playing instrumental versions of all his songs, and i fucking love it. i can't remember the name of the dire straits record off the top of my head, but it fucking SUCKS. and it's not sultans of swing. sultans of swing rules.
