In the Boston Public thread, Sunriseticklee asked when I'm extending dinner invitations. Well, I can't afford to invite the whole gang over my real house right now (we're remodeling), but it's a pretty good idea, I thought, to invite folks to at least a CYBER-dinner here at the TMF. So let's have one right now, in this thread!
It's BYOM, so I hope anyone who responds will make something homemade, ideally from a family recipe.
I will start by bringing a ring of smoked kielbasa - from that place back home that makes great sausages of all kinds - and a casserole dish of homemade pirogi. (For the Slavically-challenged, pirogi are dumplings, usually filled with cheese and/or potatoes, about the size of the palm of your hand. They are usually served with lots of melted butter and sauteed onions.)
So I'll start by putting my stuff right down here, in the middle of the table. Dig in and enjoy; be careful not to get butter on yourself.
Now, everybody, what else did you bring to the TMF Dinner Table today? 😉
(By the way, Strel, the new job is going quite well so far: thanks for asking.)
