A Question of Faith

If you consider Dante's view of Hell and Lucifer, Lucifer didn't really "rule" Hell. He was just centrally located at the bottom of the 9th circle, frozen in ice at his ankles, continually trying to beat his wings to escape, which if I remember correctly, helped the ice to stay frozen. Dante didn't even view Lucifer as a crafty, conniving Satan, but rather, a large, stupid, demonic beast. He had three faces on his head, the mouth of each eternally chewing on 3 traitors. The middle mouth chewed on Judas, and I can't remember the other two (Shame on me for not remembering my Biblical knowledge! 😱 ).

The quote "Only the truly faithful question their faith." really goes to the fact that many people just say they believe in God and just sort of blindly follow. They more or less pretend, they go to church, listen to sermons and think I did my job I get to go to heaven now. I think the person who truly believes in God is saddened by tragedies and sometimes even gets a little ticked off at the almighty. They question their faith now and then because their sense of moral outrage at certian things becomes so great. They are always the ones to help to try to make the world a better place. They are truly good people in their very souls and ultimately are the most faithful for their love of humanity and God is true.

If that Lucifer guy ever comes around don't any of you worry I'll take care of him. I can bounce so good he won't be able to touch me and then a couple of trillion trillion terawatts of plasma energy should straighten him out.

Kurchatovium, I completley agree the statement you made about faith. God has had a wonderful way of answering my questions. Getting to know people with an opposite point of view has actually made me stronger in my faith, because I've been able to take in consideration what they've said, research it, and come back with a solid answer. It's brought me much closer to God.
