A thought about adult themes

Hi folks,

First of all I just want to say thanks to everyone that supports our book. We've been really hard at work on it and we try to make every page better and better. So like I said...thanks bunches.
There is a lot of talk lately about projects that tackle (or should I say tickle) more adult themes. I'm sure there is a market for that and some people pull it off really well. For the record, I thought I'd post the view FTKL and I have on Vellicatrices Unlimited. We will NOT be crossing the line with nudity in the series. We also won't be taking the tickling in a strong sexual direction (ie direct sexual stimulation of a body part). Yes Julie McGee is turned on sexually by tickling, but it's not like we'll be tickling her crotch or breasts to achieve it.
It's just not a line we wish to cross. If some of our fans are disappointed by this we're very sorry. The thing is isn't there enough strong material out there? We'd rather keep the series in a lighter comedic vein. Yes we've said we're going to reach more into the darker side of foot torture. I guess that's my fault. I can be pretty devious when I want to, and I think there is a cross market need for it. Trust us though, we'll handle it in a fun way.
The bottom line is although we deal with tickling and foot torture, we want it to be totally tongue in cheek. We're having fun putting the series together; we want all the fans out there to just sit back and enjoy the ride.

A big 'Amen' to that, partner! While I know that there are people in the fandom who are into more adult themed tickling and nudity, but that's not where I want to take VU. To coin a phrase: "It ain't that type of party." The "payoff" here is the tickling, not sex. And I'm glad that both of us are adamant on this issue. After all, we promised tickling, so by God, that's what we'll give 'em!

You probably have a pretty good idea of what I've been going through. No sooner did I open my group with Cali and Friends was I bombarded with endless requests for nudity and sexual tickling (along with some stuff a bit to disturbing to discuss). After much aggravation and nashing of teeth I eventually made a compromise, one folder at the group will be made for tickling illustrations featuring PARTIAL nudity, upperbody exposed and panties are the furthest I'll go. I have this little thing called a consiounce (cant spell it though) which is the same reason I'm reluctant to do those requested images featuring cartoon kids like Sakura, Regee from Rocket Power and Lilo from Lilo & Stitch. You can say till your blue in the face that as long as its innocent and no sexual content that its okay....but the simple idea that its being posted here and was requested by someone....I dunno....would rather not think of what some people may be doing with my art......

Have any of you noticed this reason trend of threads on the moral and ethnical implications of the tickling community? I've been quite enthralled with all this info!

Thats fine and I appreciate your honesty. I just won't be a customer, but thats hardly a concern I'm sure.

No. Material, yes. Quality material, No. You see, I'm a BAC fan because of how he would masterfully use his talent to bring the torture together with the hedonistic.... I miss those days....

Doing projects of a more adult nature just puts things in a whole other ballpark with age restrictions and the whole nine yards. From past experience we know that we know there are fans of stronger material out there, but it's a minority. We're offering material that will appeal to the greatest number of people. It all stands to reason. It's a sideline business for us. FTKL and I both have bills to pay so we have to sell as many copies as we can.
The main reason we came forward with our personal view was to properly inform the buying public. We want people to be aware of what they are buying. If you buy the book with the hope that we will be going in one direction when we never do, you'd be pretty disappointed.
Sorry you won't be buying, but we understand we can't please everyone.

I wouldn't make that conclusion until you produce an adult oriented product to compare markets, which hasn't been done.

Let's not debate this. I could probably provide sales figures and the like which prove BZ's point, but that wasn't the purpose of this thread. It was only meant to inform customers and potential customers of "Vellicatrices: Unlimited" of what our intentions would be, so as to make an educated decision about buying it. Having done that, let us get on to the next thing, instead arguing pointlessly over BZ's and my decision. It changes nothing. For those of you who are with us, thank you. For those of you who are not, thank you for your candor and for your support of the tickling community, even if that doesn't include our publication. It is all of us who make this fandom/community work.

I cant help but agree there. I myself am fine with tickling without sexual content, but I know full well from experience that for every "normal" person that posts in these groups, there are 20 more who just lurk around looking for anything to satisfy their lustful desires....yeah I know it sounds corny....but you know its true.....

You'd like to think their in the minority because your prefered fan base posts more often and makes themselves known.....as much as you'd like not to believe it, the sexual ones are in the majority...and chances are it will remain that way for some time....

Just check out how many times posts in the Image or Vid Clips forums were viewed compared to just Tickling Discussion...you'd be very suprised...

Amen!😀 I appreciate that... If only other vendors were this upfront about their product and their intentions, maybe there wouldn't be so many folks disappointed in what they buy.
I can go with the adult content as much as the next guy, but having seen FTKL's earlier work with Madame Koo, et al, it just wouldn't seem right to infuse nudity and explicit sexual content for selling a few extra e-mags (it didn't seem to hurt Ozzy). Besides, in addition to the tickling, the storyline seems very interesting and anything gratuitous would distract for me. I enjoy Dave 2112's Sara series very much and didn't think twice of some suggested sexual stimulation, implied or not.
In a nutshell, what I'm saying is different scenarios call for different means of expression.

Thank you to all the great artists who have contributed something to this community; I hope I'm not alone in saying you're very much appreciated.

P.S. FTKL and BZ, keep up the great work; I'm looking forward to the next issue...

I had not intended to make a big debate over all this. I agree with FTKL. What we were trying to get across is that we aren't taking the series into a strong sexual area. Personally I associate tickling with sex. It's a great foreplay device. That doesn't mean were going to spell all that out in the pages of the book.
I do agree that there are far more people out there lurking than posting. That's easy enough to compare members to groups with posts. More people really need to post and post often. It's easy to think that most people aren't into overt sexual content when those people are the ones posting. It's like the old saying about voting; if you don't vote, don't bitch about who's in office.
This genre is full of different personal likes and dislikes. Believe me we're going to touch on as many as we can within reason.
As for video discussions, I really wouldn't know. I'm not really into videos. I'm more into artwork. I know there are others like me out there as well as others that couldn't care less about art. Everyone is into something.
The bottom line is we simply wanted people to know what to expect from the series. We want you to be happy with the product. Simply put neither of us wants to delve into sexual situations. We're doing a dark humor/tickle torture book, not a sexual tickle torture book. Any pretentiousness on my part was unintentional. I was trying to be upfront, and didn't mean to tick anyone off.

Oh and Morgandavis...I ain't scarred..Blackmail?..what's that?

I think Ozzy really showed that tickling the private parts of the body doesn't NEED to be sexual. Yenny's gotten it in every curve and crevice over her e-comic series and I think, with perhaps only the exception of the last comic, it was really still just the same fun tickling without any sexuality to it at all.

I mean, someone out there might see tickling the breasts as an automatic sign of sexual tickling, I don't. I see foot torture as being a more extreme subject that I'm not as comfortable with, but I'm sure those out there feel differently too. I guess what I'm saying is that I feel a little bothered that something that seems, to me. rather innocent, is being dismissed while something that I feel simultaneously is rather (and I don't want to sound judgmental by saying this, because we all have our own tastes and I wouldn't presume to look down on anyone because of differences) distasteful is being included because of this opinion of "adult content".

Regardless, it's still not going to change anything; I'm buying the series because the best artist-colorist team is making it and I know it's going to be good.

Thanks for the support Tarr2k, and you do make a very sound point. I do agree with your view. We still won't be doing any nudity, it's mainly a personal thing with us. As far as the other foot issues, it won't be anything to overlly extreame. Plus remember, this is all in all a comedy book. I mean Itchy "KILLS" Scratchy on the Simpsons all the time and it's still funny as hell.

First, BZ Tickler and FTKL, I absolutely love the e-mag and I can't wait for Issue #2. I am totally into female foot tickle torture, so this offering is right up my alley.

Second, as far as the adult theme is concerned, I am absolutely happy with the content of the first issue and the future intent. Tickling and female feet, are the two most important things for me. I love the idea of tickling the feet of a completely clothed women. The tickler slowly removes her shoes and stockings/socks/etc. and then the torture begins. In fact, as a side note that is why I cancelled my subscription to TickleHell because they go immediately from fully clothed to naked, the tickling is a side issue instead of the main one.

Third, concerning the other foot issues in future issues, how about some shoeplay (dipping and dangling), it could be the subtle shoeplay of someone in the background, or blatant such as Julie McGee or Mindy Meers dangling a pump, you mentioned Saudelli in a earlier post and the Blonde series was full of shoeplay.

Anyway, thanks to BZTickler and FTKL for a fantastic product and I look forward to following the adventure.

I was referring to masters of the adult tickling realm like BAC. How awesome it would be to have the true master given the green light to produce something worthy of his sadistically creative mind....

And from being in this industry for over 10 years, I can assure you the sales would be staggering.

There SHOULD be more sexual tickling available in comics, after all, they`re ADULT comics were talking about here. I`m not getting on BZ or FTKL, they delivered exactly what they promised in their comic. Thats what they wanted to do and they did it well! But there IS a need for sexual content, (tickling breasts, crotch) included with the regular tickling spots we see now, and there are more people out there that would like that than you think.

I would like to see the door to sexual tickling opened, not just dabbled in, and I know I`m not alone!

Black Devil, I'm glad to see your post. Nice to see a new face on here; maybe it will start a trend. As for the need for quality material of a sexual nature there does seem to be a need. Perhaps there is a new art team lurking out there that is willing to come forward. We could always use more creative teams in this genre. It just doesn't mesh well with the tone we've set for the series.

Now enough said. 😀 I've got to get back to work so we can put issue two to bed.
