All Time Favorite TV show, and your favorite character on the show?

My favorite TV show of all time was "The Avengers," and my favorite character in it was Mrs. Emma Peel, played by Diana Rigg. 😀

Anyone remember ALF, the little alien who liked to eat cats, cause mischief, send gifts to celebrities, and just annoy dorky Max Wright. Imagine if they had the Internet back in the 80s, the little runt would have a blast.

Faulty Towers - you're right, John Cleese was terrific.

M*A*S*H was my all-time favourite series, being both funny and serious at the same time and usually handling delicate subjects with good taste.

My favourite character was Father Mulcahy, who was humble, tolerant, and compassionate but also knew some good boxing moves 🙂

Don't really watch too much tv but when i do i like to watch "that 70's show" with my favorite character being Hyde. I also recently got to watch a cancelled newer show called "Freaks and geeks" that i absolutely loved, i will go with Lindsay as my favorite from that one. I would love to get to tickle her silly, she is cute!

All time fav would have to be Night Court. Loved almost every character on the show, but especially Dan Fielding and Bull. (Bull, laying on Harry's couch after being struck by lightning, still smoldering - "....Mind if I smoke?.....")

A close second would be Married With Children, even deep into the last few seasons that most people got bored with. (Peggy offers advice to Bud & Kelly as Al sees what the world would be like if he was never born - Peg: "He's right you know, I saved myself for marriage...." Al: "OH COME ON....The football team retired HER jersey........")

And of course family guy. Yay Quagmire LMAO giggidygiggidygiggidy

(I can't believe I forgot Stargate Sg-1......man I really have to quit drinking so much lol......Stargate is more like an uber favorite, It's the only show I have every available season of on dvd...)

all time favorite

Hello . Been a member of TMF for years but never posted anything before. favorite show of all time has to be the original 39 episodes of The Honeymooners. What better characters could you ask for than Norton and Ralph. Classic. Not far behind would be The Little Rascals. After seeing them hundrends of times, I still cry from laughing so hard. Talk about characters on that show. Just an opinion.

Lots of great shows mentioned here. But my favorite show was "All In The Family". The first 5 seasons were the best. Then it went way down hill. But you can't deny that "Archie Bunker" wasn't one of, if not the most loved TV characters of all time. The show tackled many issues including politics, race, economics, women's lib. crime and gun control, and many other topics.

One of my favorite scenes was when Edith brought home a big cake with "Happy Bar Mitzvah Irving" on it.

Well "welcome back Kotter" was always one of my all time faves,I loved the teacher and the slick guy student who was always a smooth talker,kind of a smart aleck too..

That and "airwolf" with my fave Michael Jan Vincent...I loved Michael as he is super good looking in my book and I also loved the helicopter he flew..

"All-time favorite" is a big term, but one of my all-time favorites is The Phil Silvers Show (aka Sergeant Bilko). I love the main character, Ernie Bilko. A consummate con artist, always looking for ways to manipulate the system and make a quick buck; and yet, with a heart of gold, never using his skills to harm anyone and often using them to help those in need. Why isn't this on DVD yet, dammit??

Aaah, I figured I wouldn't be the only one out there! What a terrific show this was. Nearly 40 years later and I still haven't seen anything else that tops "The Avengers."

My favorite episode involving the lovely Mrs. Peel was "The Joker," in which she spends a weekend in a supposedly lonely, isolated home.

Among current shows, I am particularly fond of "The Shield" on FX and "The Sopranos."
