It's not that it's bad, it's just at the beginning and the end the barefoot girl just sounds like it's voiced by a dude!

Then again, Bart Simpson is voiced by a girl, male Ranma is voiced by the same as female Ranma. (At least in the first few seasons.) Talk about us lazy ass Americans. Read the credits and you'll see that it's true. Yetm there are two Japanese actors, one male and one female.

Probably, but they sure can pass for girls as far as looks. My friend from the Navy who is stationed in Japan once showed me a photo he took of two girls. He showed it to me and said guess which one is the girl, so I picked the prettier one and I was wrong. Then I learned on the net that this was more common than I thought.

Now I don't know for sure, but it then makes me wonder less why we get screwed up characters like a certain Guilty Gear character whom I shall not mention........

Japanese men who "look like women" aren't very common, despite what people tell you. Most of them are easily identifiable as male in terms of appearance and voice.

It's simply a bit of a "running gag" [not exactly the term I'm looking for] in the seiyuu industry to hire women to voice certain male characters.

Well I saw it on the news somewhere, not that it was common but actually heard of. Hostess bars where it's the guys entertaining the girls instead, and they are paid to dress up like that.
