Search history is a laugh. In the days of Windows 98 and Pentium 2, my dad thought of himself as an enthusiast "power user", and since we all shared a family PC at the time, he learned to sort through cookies and browsing data (I remember the old days of porn site ad timer programs) to try to manage things. I can't say that I worry about it too much because it's confined almost entirely to my computer and nobody uses that except for me. I do publish my erotica novels under pseudonyms and I hide them carefully under my bed, but nobody really go snooping around. Honestly I suspect that people around me either assume that I'm asexual or that I'm weird in some way, since I am a 41-year-old who has never been in a relationship and has barely any contact with people. 99.9% of the time, I am the only one who uses my laptop, although a few years ago, I had to get a program fixed or installed on my computer, and it had to be installed by a family member.
