it's not wrong to find a cartoon character cute and sexy. hell, when Heathcliff was on the air, i wasn't even interested in girls yet, but whenever i saw her, i thought "wow, there's sumthing so...ALLURING about her!". The same held true for Lilly, a live-action furry from Dumbo's Circus. remember that? i guess sumtimes our urges come quite early without us even being fully aware of them yet.

Its curious how the female counterparts of cartoon animals are given the shapely bodies of human women, yet the male toons retain their comic short and fat, tall and lankey appearance.

It really shows you that even a cartoon female animal can be objectified. If she were cartoonish looking like the others, nobody would give a $hit. Furthemore to that, this teaches little boys, early on, to treat women differently based on appearance.

Heathcliff's girlfriend retained her cartoony appearence, what's more, some of the earliest cartoon characters (Minnie Mouse, the Powerpuff Girls) have rather immature and cartoonish appearences.
I think the reason why Cleo was designed the way she was has two reasons.
One was because the Catillac Cats was created specifically for the cartoon and she was, indeed, designed to bring in more of a mature audience.
Two was to have a rather humorous dynamic to Cleo Riff-Raff's relationship, he was short, pudgy, and although charming, a bit of a slob and a cad. Cleo was tall, shapely, and intelligent as well as cultured, but the sex appeal is still obvious.

Only someone of age would understand the idiosyncrasies, though. They are wasted on a child, which further cements the need for an explaination to kids. Of course, we didn't live in a politically correct world in regards to cartoons back then either.

Riff-Raff was also a bit of a pimp. Big hat, tie, cane XDXDXD and a hot girl
