Are scarves good to use for bondage?

I posted a message about a week or 2 ago about buying restraints. Thanks for the feedback and I am going to be doing so soon. However, for now, I'm planning on using scarves...are they effective and good for bondage use? I figure rope is just obviously bad cuts etc...cuffs obviously same metal ones...scarves though are soft and I would think they work really well to tie someone up with. Anyone have any experience using scarves for bondage and if so how was it?

Scarves

Used them in my early days of pervery but they're not the best. Rarely long enough, a bit bulky when twisted to form the ties, and also difficult to untie at the end of a session. You're best off investing in a good set of leather restraints. Never use metal handcuffs, which are unyielding and can hurt or mark the skin. Or get some WOVEN (not twisted) rope from any yachting or mountaineering supply shop or hardware store.

First off, there's nothing wrong with rope if you know how to use it. It's what I use most for bondage and I've not left a cut from rope in the 30 years I've been using it.

Metal cuffs are bad, but almost no one uses them, because they're also expensive. Leather or nylon cuffs are the standard.

Scarves do work, if you're talking about the long silky sort. Wool scarves are nearly always too bulky. You can use them by themselves, or you can use scarves to make cuffs and attach rope to them.

If scarves are what you can get, go with them. But don't dismiss rope out of hand.

I have used wool and silk scarves. They weren't the best idea. They were ok at first but they're not great for any length of time because they do leave marks on the skin and can restrict blood flow. Maybe I tied them wrong, I don't know. All i know are my experiences of using scarves. I use leather buckled cuffs and they're great.

Silk scarves big issue is that they are a royal pain in the ass to undo after a sub has struggled the knots into super tightness. You will cut a lot of scarves up. If you want cheep and don't want to use rope use old pantyhose or stockings. They preform exactly like scarves but so not cost so damned much.

As someone who's been tied with scarves and nylons - I do not recomend them outside of stories. They tend in my struggles to get really tight no matter how well the Dom(me) ties the knot and cuts off the circulation. I prefer rope and cuffs. Something where the knot won't slip as you pull against them.

Thanx for the responses. Yeah scarves could be good but really be a pain and difficult. I think tying her ankles together with a scarf actually would be pretty easy and effective but tying her wrists might hurt and be tough to get off. She is saying to maybe use belts to tie her wrists with. Belts, anyone have an opinion on that? Lol...thanx for the help.

Never used a belt but may I suggest ACE bandages? They have some nice stretch and if you wrap them correctly, they don't get too tight.
