I don't remember the year exactly...maybe...2005? 2006? We stayed a few nights in Ft. Lauderdale...left from there for the cruise...came back and stayed a few nights in Orlando..then home!
 
Awesome! I've only been to Tallahassee, Pennsicola, and Fort Myers Beach. Lived in all 3 places 2 years after each other from 2001 to 2007.

Anyways, have you ever been to a gathering/munch?

November '08: Bella's Bash (Ohio)
January '09: NYC Munch
January '09: Super Bowl Gathering (Albany)
May '09: NEST (Philly)
August '09: NHLee (New Hampshire)

and I'll be going to Bella's this coming November as well 😀
 
That's nice. I have the opportunity to go to my first munch in Atlanta on the 19th of this month, but due to conflicting schedules and other issues, I won't be able to go 🙁

What is the difference between a gathering and a munch?

A munch is typically a non-play get together that lasts a few hours. People go to a restaurant to eat, chat and get to know one another.

A gathering typically lasts a few days (Friday to Sunday perhaps) where play happens more often.
 
Don't you think it's kinda sad that this grown man can't get to his first munch because he can't drive to it or get a ride?

Neither. The last time I got to drive a car, my instructor (and father) got me so shaken up and nervous, that I drove it into a ditch! I never did get another lesson because everytime anyone would try to teach me how to drive, my hands start to shake and I wouldn't be able to grip the wheel.

I would if there was public transportation made available in my area, but the closest town that has a bus (or taxi service for that matter) is IN Atlanta. So I'm screwed. Unless I can get one of my parents to take me like someone else I know had her mother take her to one, but then that would mean me having to tell them why and what a munch is. They'd just send me to another shrink thinking that my tickle fetish is something that can be cured, like it's some sort of disease.

I got the odd man joke 🙂 I just don't know how to tell you to get more involved if you don't drive and can't get rides from anyone or access public transportation. To be honest, it makes me wonder how honest you're being. Even the smallest towns in PA have public transportation, or at least cabs.

I'm being honest, unless of course I just didn't look hard enough. Plus, besides I have no money for cab faire or a bus ride....I don't even have a cent to my name.

I've been fired from my last job and every single solitary business both in and slightly outside the city aren't hiring anybody right now. I did file for unemployment, but was turned down.

Again - every single business isn't hiring? You'd do better getting people to believe you if you weren't so extreme. "I can't find a job - no one's hiring" sounds much more believable.

Well, what I said did sound a bit off-putting (I think that's the terminology). I have tried to find a job, but no one is hiring at this time. I may have to wait til around Christmas time and hopefully make a lasting impression that will get me a more permanent stay in the store.
