My beautiful wife, I love to read Dean Koontz and Stephen King - or something comparably dark and exciting. I have a special love for Edgar Allen Poe that I never outgrew from when I wanted to paint my room black and all that jazz 😛 Oddly enough, I happen to loathe romance novels. I hope someone hits Nora Roberts in the face with a shovel.

So if I recommend a really good book series, there's a pretty good chance you might check it out if you ever have the time?

I actually never read that one 🙁 My mom and my sister went and saw the movie and told me all about it so I was kinda turned off to it. I can't really enjoy that kind of a book if I know what's gonna happen. The good news, however, is that this question made me realize that I don't remember anything about the story, so I might try it now 🙂 As soon as I finish Odd Thomas 😀

Yeah - movies based on books usually are. When I was in Europe I read Message in a Bottle (I know what I said about romance novels, but when you're on a bus for 16 hours at a time you make do with what you've got), LOVED IT, came home and watched literally about 3 minutes of the movie before I became too disgusted to finish.

That's one of the things I regret about alot of Stephen King books, is that I was too young to really be interested in reading them before I saw the movies.

Wrong answer. Fondue is BULLSHIT. If you're going to sit a rhino and his date in some weird little curtained booth and charge him an exorbitant amount of money for a meal, then said rhino expects to walk out of there stuffed to the gills. Not so. They set pots of boiling junk in front of you, along with little scraps of food, and MAKE YOU COOK THE FOOD YOURSELF.

That waiter was lucky to make it out alive. I had to hit Del Taco's drive-thru afterward.

Who the hell eats fondue as a meal? My understanding has always been that it's a fun snack or dessert. My fondue plan is as follows:

1.) Add cheese/chocolate to fondue fountain thinggie
2.) Get slightly drunk while you gather the rest of your fondue paraphernalia
3.) Find cards
4.) Dip food into fondue while playing card games that force you to become obnoxiously drunker
5.) Watch fondue become exponentially more awesome the drunker you get
6.) Don't burn your house down

We don't have Del Taco here. Just Taco Bell. 🙁
