Attention *****

I simply think of it as someone who does actions that scream "Look at me, I think I'm fabulous, you should think I'm fabulous too."

As Goodieluver said, take a look at the people who have been banned from our site.
 
Part of me says that attention *****s are young females who have pictures of themselves posted with provocative poses. Not tastefully done; simply transparent "look at me I'm a hot young thing".

I believe it sort of sends the wrong message.
 
I think a lot of trolls know how to push people's buttons, while attention *****s act like they don't know what they are doing.
 
Since you mentioned ***** I would assume it would be a woman.

i would say a woman who constantly has to have attention from anyone. Even if they have to pretend they are someone they are not or get it from someone they can't stand.

She also gets very jealous when someone else has the attention.

I just said attention ***** 'cuz that's the label mostly used, I wasn't singling out a specific gender. But I would agree with your definition.

Now if a guy posts any pics of himself like that, he's definitely an attention *****...🙂

Really just anyone that starts trouble for the sole purpose of starting trouble, then denies it. A desire for a certain degree of attention/approval is a natural thing. It just comes in varying degrees.

I respectively disagree.Trolls get banned,usually after being given numerous chances to correct their behaviour.Attention *****s will at some point leave of their own volition,or at least stop posting when people stop responding.
 
To me, an attention ***** is someone who posts JUST for the sake of posting and seeing their name and picture everywhere. Someone who posts nothing of substance, they just post for the hell of it.

A troll is someone who posts negative or attacking threads, or follows a series of threads that they have made an unpopular or rude opinion about, and constantly has to restate the same thing over and over, ad nasauem just so they make sure every one is reminded of how they feel. Someone who can not simply state their opinion and let it go. They feel they have to have the last word, because if they do they win the argument.

Trolls and attention *****s are 2 different things to me.

Good stuff, Rob! I agree that a troll isn't (necessarily) an attention *****, there's usually a big difference in motivation and whatnot.

On a lighter note, I just want to say that from the perspective of someone who posts WAY too much in the Silly Stuff Forum, I find the bolded lines in your post absolutely hillarious! :rowfull:

The Silly Stuff is a place to post nonsense and just for the sake of posting.

And Goodie, sometimes humor, wit and well placed sarcasm can be a better entry than most reponses to threads.
