Consider a very large sandwich, with lots of filling, on a big roll that is about 12 inches long. In various parts of the U.S., it is called "a hero", "a grinder", "a hoagie", and "a po'boy" (contraction for "poor boy").

What do you call such a sandwich on that side of the Atlantic?
