Best Songs of the 90's

Moby - "Natural Blues" (1999)

He's sampling a song called "Trouble So Hard" by Vera Hall

En Vogue. Free Your Mind...

EN VOGUE -- "FREE YOUR MIND" 1992. Another gorgeous(ly) distinct sound. Unfortunately still way ahead of their time...

Alternative?

I was a teenager during the eighties. Looking back, it's my opinion that popular music had seen, and would later see, better days. I enjoyed more 90s and early 2000s music, particularly some of what was labelled as "alternative." I never liked that label. Even if it's because the style of music had been alternative music, during this period, it was being pumped away on Top 40 radio. That's not alternative. With that gripe aside, I really liked this style of music. I'm not posting any songs. I simply saw the topic and decided to throw in my two cents.

I hadn't realized until recently how many awesome instrumental type songs The Beastie Boys had.

The Beastie Boys - "Song For Junior" (1998)

Lil' Kim, Angie Martinez, Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopez, Da Brat, Missy Elliot - "Not Tonight" (Sep 4, 1997 - MTV VMAs)

Check out Method Man, ODB, and the Wu-Tang Clan complain that they weren't nominated at the beginning lol
