The Girl Next Door
It's hard to pick out the "best" over a 40 yr period, but this is one of my earliest and great fun at the time.
It happened the summer that I was 14 and she was 13. She had almost reached her full growth, which isn't saying much. She was a little tiny girl, blonde and blue eyes. As a high school cheerleader a few years later, she stood 4 ft 11 in tall in her bare feet, and weighed 85 lb soaking wet.
It sorta happened by accident. The Tony Curtis Houdini movie had just run on TV the night before (broadcast, only 3 channels to choose from - dinosaurs roamed the earth.) We were sitting in lawn chairs in my back yard after supper, and we started talking about the movie. I was wearing shorts, t-shirt and sneakers. She was wearing shorts, halter top and sandals.
We decided to try out some of the escapes. I cut a piece of clothesline. She tied me up in my chair (not a very good job) and I escaped.
Then it was her turn. Believe it or not, until I had her tied up, the thought of tickling her hadn't occurred to me, but then it struck me that she might be A LOT more fun than tickling goofy cousins. I grabbed an ankle, flipped off her sandal, and started tickling her foot. She had a much bigger laugh than I expected from so small a person, completely unrestrained. She jerked back, and the chair tipped over and dumped us both onto the grass. We thrashed around on the grass, the rope came loose, and her other sandal came off. By fortuitous accident, we wound up with her in the figure-four leg lock.
Once I had her immobilized, I used my finger nails to tickle her feet for at least 3 minutes, maybe 5 - long enough for both of our moms to come out and check on us. They left us alone when they saw that I was "just" tickling her. ;-) Little did they know that I had a woody like a telephone pole. She had a great laugh, her struggles were to no avail, and she gave up trying to escape just before I stopped and let her up.
Afterward, she acted highly indignant, but later said that she really hadn't minded having her feet tickled. We were friends all through high school, but I only got to tickle her two more times. Once I ambushed her and tickled her feet for 1-2 minutes. The other was a rib tickle, a few giggles worth.
