Bondage necessary or no?

While I'm on the curiosity run, I note the assumption that bondage is ever-present. Remembering one of my favorite 'lees, I do recall that not all need bondage. Indeed, while another favorite virtually REQUIRES restraint to avoid injury to others, one fine woman could hold predominantly still, laughing uproariously, for hours on end, without restraint.

While a number of folks here know whom is in reference here, I'm more interested in knowing this - do you prefer the use of bondage when tickling? Extra bonus no-prize for those 'fessing up to their preference in this scene, whether tickler or ticklee.

As for me being the tickler, I prefer to restrain my ticklee for the same reason Myriads mentioned...

MistressMia, you're like a 'lee out west, here. She's lethal when unbound. Seen her knock folks off of things, head-butt them, etc.

Oddly, the 'lee that held still for me is one of the few people with whom I've played that seems totally outside of the BDSM community, even now. She's just not one to conform to the concept of topping or bottoming.

So far, we all dig the bondage thing for serious sessions. I'm looking forward to being surprised, still...

Bondatge is too sexy to leave out!

I belive that bondage isn't soo much necessary, but definitly adds to the excitment and to the theme of whats going on between the tickler and the ticklee. I feel that rope bondage can be especially sexy around teh ankles and big toes. I love the look of a pair of pretty bare female feet with soft nylon wrope starting at the lower ankle and wrapping a width 7 or 8 wraps up. I have tickled some people without any bondage at all. It does depend on what they want as well as how ticklish they are...some ticklees freak out so much and kick out violently. Who wants to be using their tounge on a ticklish sole and next thing ya know your eating your teeth?

My ticklee is my victim. She has to be immobilized and helpless, her only option being: to take whatever I choose to dish out.
I’m not necessarily a sadistic tickler (I may plan to go easy on her), but when I’m in charge, I have to be in charge. Bondage is simply the fastest way to deprive someone of power and put both parties in a d/s state of mind.

In regards to Plumas comment about girls being more ticlish when restrained..i too find that to be true. Seems the less they can move..the more the nerve endings shoot right up to meet tickling fingers! I love rope because its sexy as hell..but its true that it can be a pain in the butt to tie..untie..retie if your doing different positions. I also use furlined leather wrist and ankle cuffs because they are comfy for the ticklee..and very quick to reconnect in differnt positions..you can go from spread eagle to a hogtie wicked fast! I also use two very fun implements. I definitely don't think bondage is necessary for a good tickling...a beautiful, helpless & ticklish woman is great but I think it is also just as fun (if not more so) wrestling around and tickling. It's more playful and at least gives your ticklish lady a chance to defend herself and get you back! Of course I never let that happen!!

If the victim is super ticklish and taken by surprise then bondage may not be neccessary. You can reduce them to a quivering pile. Sometimes bondage can actually make the person numb or achey from the lack of movement if prolonged past a reasonable time frame.
On the other hand bondage has saved me from getting my teeth kicked out on more than one occassion. Non bondage wise I've already told you guys already about the Stripper in Canada who actually tried to choke me, and she had agreed to let me tickle her. I had to pull a "John Steed" on her. She was one victim who should have been tied up.
If you're tickling your lover I'd say bondage isn't as neccessary as opposed to when you're tickling in session format. That's just my opinion, and I tickle torture women regularly.

To tie........or not to tie..............I choose not to...

About 5 years ago I visited a place in NYC called the Balcony. This establishment was (was because I believe the Balcony has since closed down) a low key fetish club that had both dominant and submissive ladies for your fetish pleasure.

Is bondage really necessary?

This has been an interesting thread, thanks to you all for your views.

For myself, I don't really NEED bondage (whoa, back the truck up...better tell you, I am a 'lee), a fact which surprises me no end. But I think I ENJOY the bondage for a number of reasons. I, IRL, am a bit of a control freak. I can "control" myself while being tickled, thereby making bondage unnecessary for the safety of whatever tickler(s) are having their way with me at the time. But, for me, there is something about giving up the control and allowing myself to be restrained that adds a little soupcon of a dangerous feeling to it that makes it a bit more intense for me.

But, bottom line is, I LOVE to be tickled, in all ways. The wrestling "tickle fights" with another, the tickling as foreplay, the tickling in a group situation just for pure fun...it's ALL good!

I remember when I first met someone from online to explore tickling .. We talked for months and decided to finally get together. I have played quite a bit with bondage and it definately has its advantages. As a Lee and especially as a Ler! Me, I prefer some kind of restraint. Doesn't have to be full bonds or anything, but enough to take a good chunk of control away from the 'lee. I'm not the largest guy in the world and unless she's that much smaller than me, a lot of energy gets wasted in physically containing the 'lee and trying to tickle as well. But tie the hands behind the back...or to something solid and the majority of your energy can go directly toward good tickling.
I think unbound is for the more romantic type tickling (which is fine too). But I think if the lee truly wants to feel tickling at it's most mental helplessness, then there's no other way but with bonds

I think this topic came up a while back. My regular ticklee is one of those who react with wild flailing and squirming, so some restraint is usually necessary for a long tickling session, or I'll probably wind up kicked at some point. While I enjoy holding and tickling her, I'm always worried about hurting her, because her reactions are so strong that I have to grip tightly.

As a ticklee, though, I can usually control my reactions well enough to avoid doing damage to the tickler. But I'm definitely in the camp of those who are more ticklish when restrained -- it seems like the less freedom of movement I have, the more ticklish I get. Last weekend, I got spread-eagled with my fiancee lying on my legs, further immobilizing me as she tickled my sides and stomach. I'll lean toward the non-bondage but that is becasue of experiences. Of the few women who I have tied down the ones who really liked it did not get the full treatment becuase of my inexperience and the ones who did not I was gentle with.

Thank you Donna and hawkikim, for contributing a female 'lee's perspective (though both do switch, which is common for women, in my gatherings'-based observation). Never did get to tickle Donna much. Alas. *sigh* Hawkikim, otoh, has been to many gatherings, and is one of the few 'lees to actually TIRE ticklers. Cheryl may still win for longest, but Hawkikim and Annaloo99 are the other two of the everlasting variety. Never seen either truly "tire" of tickling.

OTOH, totally immobilizing a 'lee, comfortably, and being able to work every inch, slowly, is just delightful.

Well, if the ticklee consents to bondage, I prefer just that. I've had too many black eyes or other colorful blotches on my body, and one of my teeth is missing, only because of the 'lee kicking out a bit too 'vivaciously'.

A second reason: Only when a ticklee is securely bound, she (I've only tickled females) is able to reach a certain level of arousal through tickling. Only if she is forced to endure the unbearable, the door to a tickle orgasm gets unlocked. I never do bondage tickling without a safeword though, for the same reason. But none of my 'victims' have used it when they approached that special level. Somebody called it 'sub-space' in an earlier discussion, others call it 'sensory overload'. It's a rare but unforgettable experience!
