there have been a wide range of opinions on if brock lesnar is actually ill or scared to fight shane carwin. What do you guys think?

its being reported that the fight (which was moved to ufc 108, on jan 2nd) has been canceled because Lesnar is still sick and unable to train. Supposedly he has mononucleosis.

Im not sure that i buy it, i think lesnar has realized that he cant beat someone with similar size/strength as him and he is scared to drop the belt

I don't think Lesnar fears Carwin, eventually he's going to have to fight him. There are a lot of HW's emerging with weight relative to Lesnars so he better get used to it.One thing I do question is Lesnar's long-term future in the sport.

He does have great wrestling capabilities but let's be honest,it is his size and power that's winning him fights.IMO,his most impressive victory was the Herring bout.Couture,at 47 and 60lbs lighter,,gave him his toughest fight before getting caught and Mir is,well Mir.Frank Mir has never been a guy who takes punishment well so the 100 outcome wasn't surprising.Lesnar is a beast but he is way overhyped and when he faces tougher competition he will have some problems.

If he was within earshot, would you call shenanigans on him? Dude says he's sick, let him be sick.

hell no i dont have a death wish lol

but it does seem shady to me, its probally just because i dislike him so i immediatly think the worst of him.. but being to sick to train seems like a lame excuse when carwin himself was training with a flu and a bad leg injury

While I'm no Lesnar fan, I don't think he's ducking Carwin. After all, Machida and Silva had to postpone their respectibe bouts too.

As did Mark Coleman. That's why it's Ortiz/Griffin 2.

here is what is ironic to me...

UFC is by far the BIG DOGS of MMA. And MMA is just like boxing in the fact that the heavyweights for the most part are the big draw . Yet the ''big dogs '' don`t have the baddest heavyweight or what most people in the biz think is the best fighter right now on the planet . his name is ...Fedor

Fedor is accustomed to having a size disadvantage.

Hell yeah, I'd call him on whether he's playing sick or not. What's he gonna do? Beat me up?

In a year I'd get that new mansion in the country, swimming pool, cool stereo system, have gatherings once a week............

I've never understood why someone can demand money from someone who kicked there ass. Jail-time would seem reasonable to me.

I don't wish bad luck on anyone, but if what someone said before was true and Shane McMahon is getting involved with UFC, it just seems a bit shady that Brock would suddenly become ill at the same time as his arrival.

the best part about this whole thing was dana white coming out immediately and making it sound like brock would never fight again and was on his death bed. since then he's been back tracking big time. now i just read that brock is out of the hospital and heading home... dana the drama queen.

#1 Yes I truly am a huge UFC fan!

#2 I believe that Brock is truly very ill.

Dana White: Lesnar may never fight again Story Highlights
Dana White told TMZ.com that Brock Lesnar may never fight again
He has an intestinal disorder that may require "major surgery"
Lesnar's next fight has been pushed back twice due to illness

UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar is suffering with something related to an intestinal disorder and will probably require "major surgery," UFC president Dana White said in a report Monday on TMZ.

Lesnar, who twice pushed a fight back recently due to a bout with mononucleosis, is facing a far more significant illness that is potentially career-threatening.

"There's a possibility Lesnar will never fight again," White told TMZ.

White plans to have Lesnar transferred to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. for further diagnosis and treatment.

During the UFC 105 post-fight press conference, White declined to specify Lesnar's illness to respect the star's privacy, but did state that Lesnar neither has cancer nor AIDS.

Lesnar was scheduled to defend his belt against Shane Carwin at UFC 106 on Nov. 21 but the fight was postponed when Lesnar came down with mono. Both fighters received bout agreements for UFC 108 on Jan. 2, but that was postponed indefinitely earlier this month when Lesnar remained unfit to train.

"I can't really talk about it right now, but he is in rough shape. He's in really bad shape," White said Saturday. "I'm actually probably going to fly to go see him, and we're going to probably have to do some stuff to take care of this guy. He is not well, and he's not getting any better."
