I make one statement before posting this.

Jeff, I saw the pictures of what you are dealing with in Boston with the snow, and I'm really sorry. That must be awful.

Now..

The NYC weather forecast over the next week is supposed to be terrible.

Starting Thursday, Arctic air is supposed to invade, with the high temp on Sunday expected to be a balmy 15 degrees, with lows near zero.

There is also.. a quote "Potential Winter Storm" forecast for Saturday and Saturday night, for up to 6 inches of snow.

It looks like some really harsh weather is coming.

The brutal cold is here, with the high today a balmy 20 degrees.

I now heard that a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for NYC from tomorrow afternoon through Sunday afternoon, for up to 7 inches of snow.

After that, Sunday is supposed to be another sizzler, with highs in the upper teens, and lows near zero.

Hopefully this weather will warm up soon.

I don't mean this in a negative way, but maybe your father is right. He's been right about many other things. Have you ever considered moving to a warmer-weather state like Florida, Arizona or Texas? It would be a fresh start and much nicer weather for you!

Jericho, what does a thread about the most brutally cold weather in NYC in decades, and a snowstorm, have to do with me, my father, or him being "right" about anything.

I'm not moving. I just got here less than 3 years ago, and all of my contacts are here. There is no reason for me to move.

There is no reason for me to move.

Much better job market, and much better weather.

Think about it this way. Let's say you are a "free agent" (baseball terms) and can sign anywhere you want to sign. Would you re-sign (remain living) in NYC or elsewhere when you consider everything else?

I really didnt want to turn this into another thread about my personal life. All I'll say is the weather here is freezing cold, and about to snow, and leave it at that.

I just meant it to be more of a discussion on the weather. If you could live anywhere with weather being the main factor, where would you choose? Would you rather live down south away from all the snow and cold? If so, would you rather deal with heat AND humidity that many regions have? It's hard to find a perfect balance.

Honestly, solely on the question of weather.

Probably some place like,.., southern California, even though I know they have their problems too with mudslides, and quakes, etc.

Someone I know lived in Laguna Beach, CA for several years, between LA and SD, and the person said the weather there was usually perfect.

I dont think I'd like to live in FL, too hot there in the summer, and also because of the hurricanes.

LOL, I saw some people from America's south (I could tell because their car had Georgia license plates and their accents were southern) leaving a local Weis Market and saying as soon as they stepped outside, "CHRIST, IT'S LIKE LIVING ON AN ICEBERG UP HERE"!

To which I reply, "Welcome to NEW YORK BITCHES! WE FREEZE HARD TO PLAY HARD UP HERE!" 😉 😀

Moderators... Please CLOSE this thread before it spirals out of control like ALL OF THE OTHERS !!!

You don't have to be a trained Meteorologist to see the STORM Coming!

We are to hit a record low tomorrow of -2 degrees which will break a 100 year record.

Its supposed to be 2 above zero in NYC tonight, and then at least a few inches of snow tomorrow night into Tuesday.

We are expected to receive 2-3 inches on Tuesday but people down south will see more snow.

We might get up to 6 inches here tomorrow night into Tuesday.

I wasnt sure if the storm was going to reach this far north, as it is a southern storm,. but..

My favorite weather saying lol.. A Winter Weather Advisory, has been issued for NYC for 2 to 4 inches of snow tonight into tomorrow.

They are going to get it much worse further south of here, with many inches of snow in places like Baltimore, Ocean City, MD, DC, etc, but, NYC is going to get it too.

Then, after this, more brutally cold weather Thursday and Friday, with highs again in the 20s, and lows in the single digits.

This is seriously the worst winter I can ever remember.

We had a few inches of snow from last night through.. about noon today where I live. Now It's sunny, but cold.

This Thursday and Friday are supposed to be bitterly cold again, with highs in the teens and low 20s, and lows in the single digits. There will be a slight reprieve this weekend, before brutally cold weather returns again next week.

What a winter this has been!

It is supposed to get brutally cold here again the next two days, with highs in the teens, and lows in the single digits.

Today's high temp was in the low 30s, for the first time, in.. ages. It felt like.. summer, compared to how it has been lol.

Tonight's low is expected to be a sizzling.., 2 degrees. It is supposed to be only 20 for a high tomorrow, before a slight repriveve this weekend, and then bitter temps again next week.

Not to nitpick, but the descriptor, "sizzling" means hot. I've seen you use it a couple of times now to describe extreme cold.

I swear to god, if this keeps up every single winter, the Northeast is going to have build a colossal stone wall on the border with Canada and then change it's name to Winterfell. I mean, damn, two brutal winters in a row? I'm used to enduring sort of temperature for short periods of time (a week every month or so) but right now it's -30 BELOW! Hell, Mt. Washington had a wind chill of minus -80 degress! MINUS 80! MINUS! 8! 0! THAT IS F'ING COLD!

I can see this weather driving lots of people out of the Northeast over the long run, along with our pitiful economic situation.

Right now, in the southern tier of NY we are under a wind-chill warning (-25 degrees with that wind chill - frostbite city). We're also due for some snow this weekend. Not much, but it'll be blowy and drifty if recent days are any indication, and of course it will be stupidly cold.

DAJT, I'm aware that "Sizzling" means hot. I was using it to be.. sarcastic about this brutally cold weather.

Which by the way, the current temp here is a biting.. 10 degrees.

As I wake up this morning at 6am, the temp where I am is a balmy.. 2 Degrees F, the coldest reading I can remember in years. '
'
This weather is truly sickening already.
