Can you "turn off" being ticklish?

The only time I can honestly 100% turn off ticklishness is when I'm around my immediate family. Something about mixing the two just makes me wanna :xlime:. I don't even have to try -- I'm just naturally not ticklish around them.

Under any other circumstances, I can block it out for a short time if I focus really hard, but it doesn't last.

I pray there isnt a way to turn it off. I hope that the day my ticklishness is turned off is the day i take my last breath

I've tried to turn it off when I'm really pissed or cranky, but I still
laugh my ass off, unfortunately. There are times when I don't react
very strongly because I'm creeped out by the person tickling me,
but generally it's because they are lacking 'ler skills. :bonk:

I can't really turn the feeling off, but I can control how I react to getting tickled to a point. When someone tickles me that I don't want to be tickled by or if I'm not in the mood to be tickled, I usually get aggressive and I can control myself for a little while so I don't laugh.

I can somewhat turn it off depending on mood and such. Usually if I'm not feeling it that day a good whine/ cry makes it stop.

One of my friends can do that.
It's weird.
But I'm convinced shes just not ticklish at all and only fake laughs.

Bah, I hate that people can do this. I had an ex-girlfriend that told me "my feet used to be the most sensitive part of my body". But then she learned to block it out before I met her. CURSES!!!!!!

Ugh, I hear you. I always HATED when an immediate family member tried to. I mean to a point to where I wanted to just punch them in the nose. So yeah, I did to a point to where I'm not even really ticklish anymore.

I can try, but it usually never works. Even if I am in the worst mood, I still squirm around and whine and laugh, it sucks.

No, I can't turn off the quality of being ticklish. It might be useful to be able to do that, but I can't.

see i did the focus thing since as a kid i hated to be tickled (ie show weakness, or be vulnerable)

and now i've yet to find a situation where i am actually ticklish. Dont get me wrong it comes in handy as a ler not to be ticklish but there are times i wonder what it would be like to feel it again

I can't "turn it off" but I can suppress it if I am expecting it. It still tickles and I will squirm some, but it is not nearly as bad. It is something I have to be conscious of though. It is more of a mood thing too I guess. If I am tired or in a mood where I don't want to be touched, I kind of suppress it a little.

Hmmm I can tone it down if it's someone I really don't like doing it, but I'll still respond regardless. It does suck if you have someone creepy tickling you hahaha.

I have this female friend here who loves to be tickled and laughs hysterically when I tickle her ribs, feet, waist, and goes insane when I lick and blow on her neck, as long as it is in a planned tickle session and she is in the mood. But when the session is over and she's had "enough" it's almost impossible to get her to laugh, or even squirm, no matter where I tickle her, even if by surprise. She says she can turn it off, but it amazes me how hysterically she can laugh in a session. It seems authentic to me, but I just wonder about it all.

i know a few girls that can do it, and let me tell ya, it annoys me greatly when they do it lol..

then of course there are other people that don't turn it off by themselves they're just not always ticklish by their mood, or other reasons.. annoying as well lol.

My GF can do it... Pisses me off. But I've never been able to... I'll try what you've suggested next time!

If my tummy hurts, or something annoying like that, I can turn it off.

I can hold back reaction for a certain amount of time (i.e. about 5 seconds) but not the sensation. It comes in handy for when I'm super uncomfortable or not in a good mood.
