CBS And The Shows That Changed TV?

Adding to the list.

Hogan's Heroes ran on CBS from 1965 until 1971. One of the regulars on that show was Royal Air Force Corporal Peter Newkirk, played by Richard Dawson who passed away today.

The movie on which the TV show was based was a class-A number one mindblower as well! (The TV show's content, radical as it may have been at the time, was seriously toned down compared to the movie's!).

And yes, I was gonna mention 60 Minutes too!

I so remember both, funny I just caught an episode of M*A*S*H last night, 1st time in a long time....it was great TV, now I can barely find anything..

^MASH should be around in reruns somewhere.^

M*A*S*H and some other classic TV shows can be found on TV Land now and then, but they also show a lot of newer stuff.

Do you remember..........................................

The Dick Van Dyke Show, where the world was introduced to Mary Tyler Moore.

Sorry to bump this thread from a year ago, but I just thought of another ground breaking show on CBS.

One Day At A Time, which ran from 1975 to 1984, and starred the now late Bonnie Franklin, Valerie Bertinelli, and Mackenzie Phillips, which was, supposedly, the first show which portrayed a single divorced woman, who was raising kids on her own, as a lead character in a TV series.

NBC had The tonight Show with Johnny Carson and Saturday Night Live...Lorne Michaels should be running

the Network:shock2: The Today Show also was a Gem in Television History...

The process of choosing Executives that Green light Shows needs to be examined.

NBC had a very special line-up with The Cosby Show, Family Ties, Cheers Night Court La Law and Hill

Street Blues

NBC...:usa:

They owned the ratings for Thursday Night!

The Fox Network made a lot of noise with Married with Children and the Simpsons

Movies of the week made a lot of ratings for ABC Also their show Wide World of Sports!

CNN changed the world of News programming with CNN Headline News they became a World leader in

breaking News!

Sesame Street Changed Children's Programming for PBS

MTV certainly changed the way music is viewed via television

Television certainly could use some new changes

New People new ideas is what is needed!

If I were the King what changes I would make!:shock2::cheer::cool2:

Bruckheimer would run a Network and Michael Eisner is Back to Run Disney The guy is brilliant!

Dandy Jack

Oh Gosh! the post is about CBS Don't forget Linda Bloodsworth and Designing Women

She still is on the CBS Lot and Carol Burnett She put the C in CBS Come on!

Sorry about tooting the horn of a few other Networks....

Speaking of NBC and Thursday nights...Frasier spun off from Cheers...and there was Friends...And how come nobody has mentioned Seinfeld??!! Pretty sure it was on on Thursdays...and possibly Friends as well. I'm not much of a "Googler"...so anyone feel free to correct me. NBC did rule Thursday night "sitcoms" for quite a while!!!
As for today (and the last 10 years or so)...CBS has pretty much ruled...outside of the ABC sitcoms of Wednesday night!! Nothing can beat Modern Family, at the moment!!! Just my two cents.
