A Idea that jumped in my brain today: I will make the pieces of chess game (with some ''personal'' details) here the first one, I hope you enjoy I will update this thread when I make the others

I think this is a very unique series!

I would be interested making my own set of chess pieces as well, if you have no objection against that. It would after all make your series a little less unique (but I'll mention that the original idea was yours). I have a cool idea of how I can 'integrate' characters more with the pieces instead of simply binding them with chains. Anyway, if you approve, please let me know, okay? Also, if you first want to finish your series, I'll let you do that too.

I'm glad that in someway I have given an idea to you 🙂 It would be interesting to see more than one option so I have no reason to object^^, be free to do it when you want 🙂 because usually I take my time for one draw and for me when Idea jump in the head It's better to put down immediately on the paper =D

here the knight, sorry if some particular in the knight is ''strange'' but draw profiles is my worst enemy ^^
for the bishop I have used a photo posted here in the img forum as a reference

I think the horse turned out really well too, that's exactly how I imagined it would be. The horse (and rider) would be perfect for this. 🙂

I have briefly taken an actual chess game into consideration too, but I am not able to do it. I'd be able to do the UI, graphics and moves, but the AI is far over my head. An option could have been a 2-player version or a peer-to-peer version but... not going there.

Either way, I'll probably make a set of my own here (starting soon but not today) and I will link to this thread for reference. And I'll mention of course that this was your idea first! No problem.

I just scanned in my chess pieces, so they are on the way too.

But you may still have time to finish and post your king first. I will probably post them in six parts as well (starting with the pawn). Also, I decided to make non-tk versions initially (because I like to just create the art and publish them elsewhere as such) and then overhere I will probably post both versions (non-tk only in my gallery and the tk version in the tk art forum).

I'm quite happy with how they turned out. So I feel a little bit bad because the idea is yours, so it feels a bit bad if it makes your little project fall in its shadow... Either way, I will link to your pieces as I go, so they won't be totally skipped!

Your drawings aren't as bad as you may feel. I think the characters definitely have spirit. Also style is something very personal, everyone has their own style. You can of course copy others' styles (I sometimes do this when I draw others' characters) but your own style is what you should be proud of.

Improvement is something that comes along the way. It's "doing" on one side and a bit of "experimenting" and/or "study" on the other side. Study sounds too serious maybe, it can be as simple as looking at how others draw figures, watching an instruction video on youtube or reading a small 'how-to' article you googled (e.g. how to draw hands). Little things can give you valuable tips and even though they may not make you excellent right away, they help steering you in a direction.

My king does really have a male (the others are female) so there's going to be something for the /M folk to enjoy too. And I think I made him look quite masculine too (maybe a little more than usual in build). I am very excited about the colours I am going to use on this one because I do have something pretty special in mind in that regard too. Each piece also has its own character and tickle agent. Anyway, I'll create my own thread for this later, probably tomorrow, and link to this one in it. 🙂 Thanks again for the permission to make use of this wonderful idea! You did a really good job on it yourself too!
