commercials you would love to smack the crap out of..

Radio Shack....don't just buy stuff..do stuff????? sure i always buy things and then just let them lie...smack..

local radio station is now advertising a production of the musical "Oliver" which will be performed in November in the downtown area...ack...it will play and play..and the music sucks..

which brings up a point....why on earth make a musical out of that book? it was basically a sad tale, of exploitation, child labor, abuse, pedophilia of sorts..and murder of the horriblest type...Bill Sykes beating Nancy to death in that awful way.....to make a musical is downright disgusting..the book was not cheerful at all.. poor Oliver was only happy in bits and pieces..until the end..oo and kidnapping was included...every vile act against a child which could be done was basically covered in the book "Oliver Twist" except child hood rape..and maybe Charles Dickens was being politically correct in not mentioning it..the musical made The Artful Dodger cute...he wasn't cute..Fagin was a horror of a man...and of course Bill was evil incarnate..

It all depends on the sort of musical they make it... Phantom of the Opera has always been a melancholy tale and it's nothing but singing. Let's also not forget Sweeny Todd... seriously, a musical about a man so bitter and driven mad that he cuts random Londoners' throats and a crazed woman who showers him with unrequited love grinds them up and feeds them to other Londoners... nothing cheery about that.

I despise the current Geico radio ad campaign which features a speaker with a poorly-done fake Cockney accent.

I don't know about everyone else, but I think I've seen a dozen too many of those GEICO "caveman" commercials...

"i sold the diamond ring from my first marriage and got" smack right thru the kisser..

Did we already razz on the Checkers ("Little place, big taste!")-ads, yet? Like their food, but their ads are constant here, and not terribly clever.

Oh, yeah... Those Proactiv commercials are starting to get on my nerves, too.

The damn Frito Bandito ads, those adverts were like KKK and Stormfront central, I am Mexican I have never stealed anyones corn chips (believe me we have plenty), I am not persued by the FBI (to my knowledge) nor do I never comb by hair (as mine is shaved off 🙂 ). They stopped these ads during 1971, but you still see them in old magazines and movie previews. I mean my god, they sell corn chips, the stable bread of Mexico and theymake racist jokes about Mexicans, its like the Nazi Lowrider gang (I shit you not they exist)

That damn commercial that starts off saying "Is your crush a perfect match?" I'd like to crush her damn skull.

Another one that cracks me up is the current ATT ad for their "More bars in more places"-campaign with the mother at the children's birthday party. She was expecting "Freddie the Fun-Loving Dinosaur, but didn't get the call that Freddie wasn't available, so instead they get T-Rex. At that point in the ad, we see this Godzilla-looking beast come crashing into the room, scaring the beejeebers out of the kids. :ggrin: ATT suxs, but they score points with me for that ad.
