I remember seeing all of this as well...I think they even made an article about it in Reader's Digest...and since the hospital I worked at last year never updates their reading material, I happened upon the digest from 2001...and my jaw almost hit the floor and broke when I saw it...

I remember that happening. I have to admit, though, that it didn't surprise me. A guy pretending to be a chick (I'm sure we have those even on our forum here)....not surprising. But then having young guys indulge his fetish? If they're over 18, then hey, whatever floats your boat, but under 18.....yikes! Like someone else said, that stuff gives the rest of us a bad rep 😡
 
I don't see how the magical number 18 makes a moral difference most of the time (it doesn't imply or impliment any maturity as someone much younger can be much wiser and one much older can be immature and naive). While that isn't the nature of the topic directly, I'm tired of seeing people letting the line be blurred when its all too convenient, especially in legal matters such as this that would favor or lend some level of excusability to a sick bastard who did wrong anyway.

Am I missing something here? I think you're attacking my post. It is a very simple fact that 18 is the magical number, whether you personally agree with it or not. There are no blurred lines. It is a very, very fine line. You do perverted things involving someone under 18, you are doing something wrong. You do something lewd involving someone over 18, even immature 18 year olds, then our society has proclaimed it legal and moral, age-wise. I agree with what you say on him being a sick bastard, but don't insult me by saying that I'm blurring some made up "convenient line" you created to say I'm excusing this original topic of discussion.

No, you're not missing something here (and you're not thinking, you're just assuming). It appears you've just jumped the gun and think I'm harassing you because I'm talking about something you brought up, which is fair game.

Theres no reason for you to be taking it so personally, and theres no reason for you to talk in a condecending way as if I don't know my own country's laws when I was talking about the moral conscience and consideration of them anyway. Nothing I said was directed at you. It was a general comment which was quite neutral, in fact, and wasn't directed at any one person, but rather the group.

I didn't even say "you are blurring" I said, "I'm tired of seeing people blurring the line" as in society blurs it in the legal system all the time. I think I made that quite clear and that I was speaking (typing) clearly and distinctly enough. If I was speaking to you directly I would have typed my response differently. I think you read too far into what I said and interpreted something that wasn't there to intreprete.

I feel you owe me an apology. You were quite rude there. 🙂

But he's not us. Those of us I know from here would NEVER do somethin like that, or like the guy they caught under the movie-theater seats. I know I wouldn't, and that's the most important thing to me!!!

I'm not sure I would refer to the guys who visit this forum as "us".
While some do share similar interests, people here are too varied and self-reliant to be collectively referred to as "we".

I'm not trying to be spoilsport; I'm just trying to point out that sharing a fetish does not make us any closer or similar than sharing a hobby, or a religious belief, or a political leaning.

With all due respect to everyone here, he is like you or was at one point. The only true difference between him and you is you have the self-respect to not do it the way he did or not do it at all which means that (hopefully) you'll never be in the papers or in jail.

Because you are all hopefully above such deviancy, what he does and how people view him and you for it shouldn't concern you so much or hurt you. Like Kalamos is suggesting, its not like theres some necessary or implied comradery between fetishists just because. That would be like saying all golfers are pals, or everyone who likes anime is a family. So don't feel slighted or betrayed by what he's done. He's nothing to you, just like many other fetishists you don't know.

Don't let what others think change your own self-image based on the actions of a few bad apples.

Theres that anti-drug commercial that says "Are you under the influence or above it?"

That same question would apply to people who feel slighted by this guy, and care about what "people" say. Are you going to live in shame of people like him, and because of him, or see him as inconsequential like he really is?

He is, afterall, just a number. Thats the way the state sees him, and you should too.
