Cuddle Parties, Cool or Creepy?

you know guys, I am not usually like this, I have a very strong nature, but with my mom being sick and work an all, and I have a major headache I am just in need of the biggest cuddle party right now! I wish I had lots of arms around me. I am not usually such a needy person! every now and then you just want to cry and want cuddles...

I'm a very cuddly person among people I'm comfortable with, but I wouldn't want to attend a party specifically for the purpose of cuddling. The very artificiality of the situation would bother me, and turn something that should be easy and natural into something awkward.

Then again, I'm speaking as a person who already has the luxury of lots of physical contact. My local couple dancing community (swing, blues, waltz, etc.) is very open with physical affection, and I'm also married and have play partners besides. So maybe my opinion on these parties isn't the one that counts.

Anyway, virtual to anyone out there who needs one... 🙂

Well, I've only had one experience anyway - at a BDSM club. Redmage put me on a rack, blindfolded me, then invited a friend of his over. (I was too in the thrall of the tickling I couldn't even tell it was two people, not one.) So it would be hypocritical of me to think being cuddled by a stranger was creepy. But I really don't care for cuddling. Not unless it's cold be it by the weather or the AC. I'm just not big on sharing body heat otherwise. (For instance, I don't like to cuddle after sex. I'd prefer to take time to cool off, THEN cuddle.)

I'm a big fan of hugging, and getting all cozy on the couch or
bed with friends while watching a movie or talking (or tickling)
but I'm leery of a roomful of strangers who might be in need of
touching, and who might not have brushed their teeth recently,
or changed clothing, or showered before they might think I'm
going to get close to them.

I think I'd prefer to start touching people I DO know and like, a
lot more, over going to strangers to get my touching on.

Besides, if people aren't getting touched enough, why not rectify
that with folks you know already, who also might need a hug 😉

I've been lurking this thread for a couple of weeks now. My vote is creepy-plain and simple! If I don't know you, I don't want you in my personal space! From looking at the site I don't think they'd push anyone to do anything that made them uncomfortable. There are kink/sex parties along these lines in the Bay area, where it's not uncommon for someone to join a group in progress. The rule is "Don't be afraid to ask, don't be afraid to say no."

The idea is nice enough, I don't think it's neccesarily sexual in nature but there are definite undertones. Plus if you're basically agreeing to let people touch you what's to stop someone having a bit of a grope while they're there?
