Seriously, gang...we all have different tastes, styles and ways of expressing ourselves. We don't all have to do things the same way. In fact, it would be pretty darn boring if we did! Misunderstandings happen more in mediums like this because we can't see expressions or anything. But, if we ask for clarification, that can usually be cleared up and the statements understood...hopefully without an argument.

I think there are silly posts here becasue in our normal, everyday "vanilla" lives we do silly things to relate & blow off steam. We come here for our interest, THEN post silly things to relate & blow off steam with people more like us... at least in that secret way we can't otherwise expose ourselves to. plus, when things get serious, people often take themselves and each other to seriously. Then they take things persoanlly. Then things get mean. then a thread gets shut down.

Unless I am mistaken this will be my first time posting in the general discussion section...this thread is interesting to me for a few reasons....primarily because, not having frequented this section in the past, I am unsure of what kinds of serious topics were being discussed here but it seems as though they must have been quite interesting...(I always miss everything...doh!)...lol...that said, and the reason I am even here (in general discussion) is because I signed in planning on making....u guessed it🙂 A serious thread!...lol....and I am heading over to start one in a sec....I just have one comment for Avethibaltus...ur usage of the term "marmalade weenie" is just too funny...lol...said that at the risk of being yelled at by people for saying something silly...((ducking))...lol...(just being a brat🙂leaving before something is hurled at me....lol..byeeeee🙂

Did anyone read MY post? What did it say? There are so few serious threads on here because...one of many reasons.... debates become personal, rather than an intellectual discourse that brilliant men like me (and a TINY number of others, tiny, tiny... we're talking tiny) can distance themsleves from emotionally in an effort to figure, ponder and think things out. When the posts get personal, they get angry, whiny, hateful, and people tend to throw their toys from the cribs and bloviate. Just like the above replies - and this one. Thanks for making ME sink to your level! Damn you, Damn you all! You blew it all to hell, damn you!

I gleefully await reading what The Thread has to say on all this seriousness. Now bring me ticklish victims.

I agree. I also frequent several political forums and there are people who cannot form their own opinions and need to "cut and paste" from CNN or MSNBC.

And when they are questioned about the issued they "cut and pasted", they never respond. They only cut and paste, but never defend what they stated.

I was reading these replies, just surfing along like a wanking bloviating Bilderburger, having lost touch with what the point of this whole thing was about, when I thripped my fingers & reread the 1st post, the reason we're all here gazing into the cathode ray like a bunch of poxy prats. The 1st post mentioned that people weren't discussing what they were feeling or cared about here. While I think people are always slow to open up, even in an anonymous forum (where you can post your photo & location)if you look through all the General Discussion posts, I think in general people are indeed talking abou what they care about: Who's died that was important in their lives (celeb or personal contact); politics, religion, movies, t.v. & books, people asking opinions, funny stuff, trouble with parents & spouses, abortion & the death penalty (hey, why aren't those in the humor section?!), medical news, children, and then in other sections there's fantasies, wondering about experiences that others might have had in ...anything, realy. And that's just in the English language part. Then, in the more fetishy-oriented sections, there's discussions on fantasies, experiences, techniques, questions, meetings of like minded people and so on.

So that's all I have to say about that.
