Do You Keep Your Cell Phone On All Night?

To my own, occasional demise, I tend to keep it on. I usually request that people text me rather than call if it's late and not important, but alas, I always wake up anyway and instantly regret my foolish notion of wanting to make myself available. You see, people, at least people in their early-to-mid twenties I've found, never really have anything worthwhile to say after midnight... and of course this seems especially true on weekends.

I agree with you, ali.

I can handle calls until midnight. My aunt is retired, stays up all night, and sleeps til noon, something I can't fathom.. I'm usually up working by no later than 6am. Today I woke up at 730. which is late for me. As I may have said earlier, I think I'm still sensitive to late night calls, because of what went on the last few weeks of my mom's life, where the nursing home she was in was calling me at all hours, while she was sick, as they should have, and as I wanted them to, to keep me updated, and let me know if she or they needed me to go and be with her on a moment's notice.

Welcome to the forum. Generic, and I LOL at what you said about people in their early to mid twenties never having anything worthwhile to say after midnight. I was in college until I was 23, and we used to have second dinners at diners, or Chinese resturants after midnight. It was our time to get together and chill, after working all evening with studying or writing papers.

I do. Because I listen to Music when I Sleep. I adjust the Brightness to the Lowest and turn the Screen off, so it doesn't take up much Juice.

i shut mine off before I go to bed and charge the battery overnight

Yes, I leave it on all night. My mother is 92 years old and not in good health, and the staff of the nursing home where she lives has my cell phone number (as well as my brother's).

mils. I'm sorry that your mom isn't in good health. I completely understand why you keep your cell on all night. It is for precisely the same reason I used to when my mom was in the nursing home in her final days.

I keep it on, usually it's just plugged into the wall across the room.

I used to, until I started getting sales-calls from the other side of the world at 2am. Not. Fun.

Understood, chap.

I keep getting calls from the same weird number, almost every day. Luckily, the calls are in the middle of the day, but they are still annoying.

I leave mine on all the time regardless if its my alarm clock or not and currently if its not my alarm clock it stays on silent mode. Of course, its no problem for me since I rarely get calls or texts when I'm not expecting any. So, the few times I get a random call its a 50/50 chance it could be important or nonsense.

Also, I think with most current phones now you can personalize a caller's ringtone. I'm not sure if you can adjust the volume too or if vibrate is an option. You should be able to check and make adjustments under your contact's info. And about the voice mail, you will still receive them when your phone is powered off and when you power on your phone again your phone should indicate if you have any new voice mail or text messages. But, if you suspend your phone you will not receive voice mail or text messages.

I keep it on its also my alarm and from my experience the emergency phone calls tend to happen at night
