Do You Wear A Watch?

I used to. Throughout my late teens and 20s a series of sports watches were essential for me.

I never could stand the typical men’s metal band watches, they always pull the hair out of my wrist.

But carrying my cell phone made my watch obsolete.

No, but one of my favorite souvenirs is a fake Rolex I bought in China Town NYC.

I got it about 4 years ago and it still works.

When I first visited China in 2002, fake Rolexes were all the rage. Every single peddler wanted us to buy one. By the time I visited again in 2007, they were all gone though.

I used to wear watches when I was younger but I don’t now. I found that watches were more uncomfortable to wear as I got older, and it’s just as easy to look at my phone to check the time these days, too!

One thing is for sure: I'll never wear a smartwatch. They are so inelegant! And they distract you all the time; it is like having an iPhone's on one's body :faint:

Glad it's not just me.

It's not just you, and they absolutely think you're stealing when you keep reaching in your pockets to fish around for your phone to check the time. I've been followed in Target and Walmart after workers caught my hand going into my pockets after I took my phone out to check it and put it back in my pockets. Then it's the awkward stop at the door to "check your receipt" which is odd that I'm the one they randomly decided to receipt check and not the other 20 people that just passed by in front of me. I also like to wear sweatpants and hoodies because it's comfortable so I'm already walking into the store and attracting "suspicious" attention (I worked retail years ago and the managers would tell us to watch out for the hoodie people because they are up to no good...lmao, true story).

I have a smart watch. I like it. My favorite parts about it are that it tracks calories burned during workouts and has a vibrating alarm so I don't have to be startled awake or interrupt my bf sleeping.

An actual conversation between me and a customer of the hospital I work at:

Customer:...hey dude...you got the time? My cell phone's outta power.

Me: Do you have a watch?

Customer:...what's a watch?

Me: GET OUT!

Used to wear one - until the thingy connecting the band to the watch broke. Too lazy to try to get it replaced, which anyway would likely cost as much as the darned watch itself cost. So I now have a pocket watch.

Like those 19th century ones? That is pretty cool, actually, to pull a watch attached to a chain out of one's pocket 😎

Basic needs for me: wrist watch (stainless) and perfume.

I don't know any person that in 2021 is not wearing a watch. It's a very nice accessory that every respectable person must have. I own 4 watches. Anyway, my favorite one is the AppleWatch. I decided to buy it after I read an article about it on findyoursmartwatch.com. It has a lot of useful features for me. As a sports lover, it helps me to track heart rate, the distance I run, and more others. The new models can even track the oxygen from your blood. It's very interesting how this sector of smartwatches evolved last year.

Yeah, I also have an apple watch, it's the best.

I had a few pocket watches from 1994 to 2007 until I got my first cell phone.
