Does anyone remember Oregon Trail?

Yknow what's weird? People in my wagon trains were always dying of CHOLERA. Nobody died of dysentery. :idunno: Maybe it was less common in the newer versions..

Maybe you always picked the banker at the beginning. Bankers are way more prone to cholera. Everyone knows that; it goes back hundreds of years.

also, it's fun to go to Home Depot and ask them where the wagon caulk is.

edit: i just learned there's a sex move called "caulk the wagon and float it"

and clinging to that topic, that is one angry pirate in your sig.

As a kid, I used to call it "Organ Trail" because of how often your family members would die during traveling.

Christ, off of old Macintoshes?

Yeah, I've still got the disks. I remember having to insert disk 1, then disk 2, then disk 1, then disk 2.....then it was finally loaded. I don't know why, but I never got around to throwing them away. Just stashed all my old disk games and programs in a box and had it laying around my godmother's house.

I even remember my old Mac dying on me, so I took it to the backyard and just went total 'Office Space' on it's ass!

Those old Mac's were good at not working, but this is from someone who once managed to blow up a Tandy computer in school.

I played the crap out of Oregon Trail in school. I remember I always died of dysentery or cholera, and once or twice by snakebite. There are so many ways to die in that game lol. Anyone ever made it through with no one dying? I came close once but my wagon caught fire and killed all but one person, it really sucked.

you know you can buy The Oregon Trail for your cell phone now!

when i beat it, i always just had 1 or 2 people alive at the end, lol.

My fondest memory of the game was when the updated version came out in around... 1995, and my friend and I were playing together and decided to sell all our belongings for whiskey halfway through the trail. Sadly, our family didn't finish the journey 🙁

I beat it. I have screen caps on my laptop.

Everyone survived too.
