I just wanted to coment on the old D&D cartoon of the 80's (now out on DVD). It's my opinion that this toon is not only still good today, but it may have been slightly ahead of it's time. It had some pretty cool story's and the Charactors were oll different. It was 6 young people (aging from 10-18?), who find them selves stranded in a far away land (the interdimentional realm of D&D). I really enjoyed it as a kid, and being that I have grown to be a big kid I still enjoyed seing it on DVD. If you enjoyed it, or have youngin's of your own they may get a kick out of it too. Like I said I think it may have been a little ahead of it's time when it ran from '83-'87.

I've got my DVR set to record this every weekend on Toon Disney/Jetix. I loved this cartoon. 😀 Now that its on dvd, I'm gonna have to invest in this...

Im happen to love the cartton as well (goes hand in hand since I play D&D as well hehe) I don't have the dvd set but I plan to pick it up soon.

Thanks for that little moment of nostalgia 😀

I'm just waiting for Mysterious Cities of Gold to be released on DVD.

I've already got my Ulysses 31 and Transformers complete collections. If I can get the Dungeons & Dragons, Mysterious Cities Of Gold, He-Man and Bravestarr, then I'm pretty sure I won't have any need to ever leave my house again!

And god help me if I get Thundercats too!

Wasn't there a show caled Blackstar. It was almost a cross between He-Man and Flash Gordon. He-Man because it involved two halves of the same sword, and Flash Gordon because it was a human who found himslef transported to another Galixy or something like that.

What the hell happened to my comment that I posted here? Did my announcement that they were all horribly, horribly devoured upset someone so much that they deleted it? Surely not. :/

If there was it wasn't because of me. That is a little goofy if thats why it was removed.

Uff..well, I hope not. If anyone's ever played Baldur's Gate 2 then they're referrenced there, in one of the shops in Amn. Anyway, yeah, apparantly I am the spitting image of the Cavalier...

LOL, so you look like a cross between Reggie and Jughead from the old Archie comics.

I remember watching the Dungeons and Dragons show, when I was a kid, every now and then. I didn't have cable, so I'd get to see an episode every now and then over at my grandma's house.

I still remember bits and pieces of the show, but the one thing that really stood out for me was Eric, the Cavalier.

Or, as I called him: Eric, the whiner. He even had a sucky weapon. That stupid shield. Apparently, according to a source that I can't recall, the only property it had was a +3 bonus. The person who told me could be mistaken, though. I just couldn't stand that guy, even as a kid.

I remember asking all the friends that I knew who had the D&D game if there was a sect or order of cavaliers that were particularly known as whiny cowards...Basically because of Eric. LOL.

A friend recently told me that the new DVD box set comes with the stats for all the characters and weapons for the show. Also, it is supposed to have an adventure packed in there, as well.

I wouldn't mind seeing that.

I ordered it online two weeks ago. Can't wait until it arrives. I liked the cartoon when i was a kid and it must of been fate because I had the desire to search for it. Only to find out that it just recently became available. :bouncybou

It called to me... 😀
