When I first became aware of baseball, at the age of 5, we lived in the Bronx. On some days, you could watch any of three baseball games on broadcast TV, there being three teams in NYC, one each in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Brooklyn. With regard to rooting, my family was divided. My parents were Yankee fans and my older brother was a fan of the putrid motherfucking hated jints bastards.

So, to assert my independence, I announced that I was a fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers. They confirmed the wisdom of my choice by winning their first World Series that year, in 1955.

Nice call there...I had a dream last night that the Jets will win the Superbowl this coming season...Aaron Glenn is their new coach and in my dream he won the Superbowl in his first season. Too bad I woke up then lol.

Yeah I can't even think about shorts right now. The weather guys I listen to say the long range is showing still a bit below average even into May...but who knows and by then even below average should be relatively mild. I remember one June years ago it was almost cold like half the month lol. Rainy, chilly, cool, damp, cloudy!

It was frigid there last night.
But, the Cyclones won their 4th game in a row.

Within the category of High-A league teams, the Cyclones are quite good. I am hoping that they win the South Atlantic League championship this year.

The Cyclones were created in 2001 and have won their league's championship only twice: in 2001 and in 2019.
I was in the ballpark when they won the championship in 2019.

The Cyclones were rained out last night (Friday). Fortunately, they posted the rainout on their website at 4pm, so I didn't make a pointless trip to Brooklyn. They will try to play a doubleheader today.

The Yankees played and lost 9-1 in the 6th inning. They called the game. It must have been miserable to sit in that weather. It's like a football game and worse in some cases. So you going to see the doubleheader? Dress warm!

I will dress for winter and attend the doubleheader. They play two 7-inning games in the minor leagues. I might go home after the first game ends if it is too cold (or starts to rain again).

I saw the whole first game and two innings of the second game. By then, my fingers were freezing even wearing gloves, so I went home (after going to the men's room just to use the hot air hand dryer).

I don't blame you. Saturday was about as ugly of a day as you can get...even worse than bitter cold in some ways. Not much worse than temps in the 30s and raining.

Sunday was much better. The Cyclones won 8-1 in the sunshine with the temperature in the 50's. ☀️

Yes I was in the city on Sunday and it was rather comfortable. Cool but not cold.
