Facebook; should you, or shouldn’t you

Lol! I've thought about that quite a few times........

But she's more of a **** than a fuckface

I do the same but more intelligently and in ways they don't know I am saying it

Also being a steward/union shop, I can get away with it sometimes

I one time told a supervisor "That is the stupidest and worst attempt at logic I have ever heard in my life"

One thing people need to remember is that the freedom of speech only applies to the government's handling of speech.

A private company can fire you for having an opinion, as long as that opinion isn't tied to a religious belief.

In short, a company could fire you for being a Nazi sympathizer, but they couldn't fire you for being a Muslim, because if they did, they could be sued for discrimination.

So, short of religion, your freedom of speech doesn't protect you from being fired over a belief or statement.

That being said, slander is a very specific criminal charge. So far, you can't be charged with slander for something you write on facebook unless it's something very specific like, "Bob's a pedophile who rapes children."

If you make a false accusation about someone that is very specific and defamatory, then you can possibly be charged with slander. If it's something like, "Peter is an asshole", then that's not slander.

Couldn't that be grounds for a lawsuit as well tho for firing someone due to their political beliefs? Its like firing someone for being a Republican/Democrat
