I like George Clinton's "Why can't we be friends" You?

XOXO

Ever a child of the 80s, I really dig "Melt with You" - I think it was Modern English.

Hehe i like that song.

Another cool song along those lines is "Machine Gun" by the Commodores.

Earth, Wind & Fire ~ Let's Groove

This one always got the crowd dancing back when I was a nightclub DJ!

Of course, if you're talking about another kind of partying, then Bob Dylan's "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35" will do nicely. (Can't find a good video for that one but the song contains the words, "Everybody must get stoned!")

Interesting. That's an instrumental if I remember correctly.

James Brown's "Sex Machine" would be my favorite song to hit the dance floor with, although anything by him will do. Kool and the Gang's "Funky Stuff" contains the lyric 'parrrrrtttttaaaaaay!,' which is convenient in the context of this thread.

Please forgive the correction, but this tune is actually by the band War. A good choice 🙂 . Now please go easy on me for being so anal :xpeepsofa :cupid: ...

No party is complete without...

..."Louie Louie" by the Kingsmen. Nuff said!

Or did we want a slow song, to dance with your date to? In that case, speaking of Louie, ya can't go wrong with...

..."Kiss To Build A Dream On", by the incomparable Louis Armstrong.

We like to party..Vengaboys

You give love a bad name...Bon Jovi

Pour some sugar on me..Def Leppard

Come on feel the noise...Quiet Riot

I went to a disco themed party last week (girlfriends friends "great idea") and a song that got me up dancing was "Staying alive" by the Bee Gee's, something out my usually music taste but a good party song I believe anyway.

I also love Aretha Franklin and loads of motown for party time. Like to get my groove thing going!

I loooove Disco! So anything from the 70's is cool with me. I like to dance anyways, so it doesn't matter.

Electric Slide is another that'll make me run to the dance floor. I swear, that's the longest song on the planet! :xpulcy:

"Lady Marmalade" by Patty LaBelle
"Got To Give It Up" by Marvin Gaye
"We Are Family" by Sister Sledge
"Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson

I hate to be the bearer of sad news, JPie, but both McFadden and Whitehead (the men who gave us "Ain't No Stopping Us Now") have left this world:

As for Disco, I pretended to hate it back in the 70s, but in reality, I loved that stuff! And just to keep Steph's party rolling, here's a video for a song Tamia mentioned earlier:

more disco party classics...

"Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough", "Rock With You" - Michael Jackson
"Got to be Real" - Cheryl Lynn
"Ladies Night" - Kool and the Gang (always gets the ladies dancin' 😉 )
"Good Times" - Chic
"September" - Earth Wind and Fire
"That's the Way (I like It)" - KC and the Sunshine Band

How about "Unskinny Bop"? :happyfloa
XOXO

Yep. That's Tiny Tim performing Rod Stewart's "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" on "The Tonight Show" in 1979.
