Favorite Movie Villain

not a bad choice...Pesci's character in Goodfellas was Tommy DeSimone. Or "Tommy D."

Just to throw another wrinkle into this...nobody said the villains had to be human. 🙂

I liked Max Von Sydow as Ming the Merciless in Flash Gordon... still, this is pretty damn impressive! :wooha:

I've not seen this character, although I've caught the show a couple times. Any chance you could post an image of this dude? :weird:

shocked no one said the villians from the James Bond Flicks. My favs are:

Xenia Onatop (Goldeneye)

Jaws

Oddjob

A not very faamous villian: Mr. Stamper (Tommorow Never Dies)

My most fav Bond villian: Renard (The World is Not Enough)

Gary Oldman is also awesome at playing villians, the best being Zorg from The Fifth Element and Dr. Smith from Lost in Space

One of my choices was a shark so I'm with you on this.

A few more of my faves are Dr. Doom from the never released Fantastic Four movie, Jack Torrence from "The Shining", and who could forget the greatest villian ever, Godzilla! Granted he turned good in later movies but let's not forget the havoc he caused on downtown Tokyo and Raymond Burr.

ya, that Fantastic Four movie never came out, i heard like 2 years ao its supposed to come out this year, what happened?

The FF movie I was talking about was filmed in like '89-'90. It was never released simply because it blew. No nice way of saying it. The Thing outfit looked like it was swiped from an auto show. I only wanted to include Dr. Doom and this forgotten piece of yuck was a cheap way of doing it.

From what I know the new FF flick is still in pre-production. Jessica Alba is suppossed to be the Invisible Woman.

'Tis hard to find a decent picture, since he dresses in black and is more often than not seen in dark scenes...I uploaded a few since no one scene really shows him well...But, that is the way of a shadow, I suppose. The last one is the original insect form. The wee ship firing the line of orange at it is the Lexx, and it is the size of Manhattan, for comparison.

Two words...

Mini Me

YES! 😛

Mmm i see that someone's missing : Kaiser Sauze from "Usual Suspects" the evil itself 🙂
Kevin Spacey was also great in "Seven"

What? All these posts and no one even mentioned the best Diney Villain of all time:

Cruella De Vil??????

Now just to stir the drink a bit I'll offer up a few of my faves...

The Alien (from the first movie)...tell me that thing didn't scare the piss out of people when that flick first came out. That scene with Tom Skerritt in the tunnel was worth the price of admission alone.

Amon Goethe from Schindler's List...He's standing in front of a pile of burning corpses 50 ft high and he says "Like i didn't have enough to do they come up with this. I'm going to be out here all fucking day."

Richard Burton as O'Brien in 1984. He was absolutely chilling. If you've never seen this performance, by all means check it out.

Jason Issaccs (spelling?) as Col. Tavington in Mel Gibson's The Patriot...loosely based on true historical figure Colonel Bannister Tarleton.

Mine is a tie:

BRICK-TOP POLFORD from Snatch.

And my second choice is from a now defunct(but still awesome show) television program called Firefly: A gangster named NISKA.

Both Brick-top and Niska are birds of a feather when it comes to pure evil.

My most favorite stupid villian would have to be:

General Hein, from the movie Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.

He (accidently) killed a whole city, and overloaded and destroyed the ship he was on, he was arrogent, and to prideful, reminded me a whole lot of Zap Brannigan from Futurama. he just one of those *sshole vilians you would sleep much better if ya put a bullet in his head, lol.

i loved the movie alot, and his ignorance, made it even more comical.

UMM hello?????? Micheal Myers & Freddy Kruger.......Plus Doc Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbbit?

Oh & the best Disney villan is Scar or Oggie Boggie from Nightmare before Christmas

My personal favorite is "The Tall Man" from the Phantasm series played by Angus Scrim. That dude puts the e in evil! In the second movie he really pissed me off when he levitaded the priest's necklace cross, lifting him off of the floor and then turning it upsidedown! Also he told him "You think that when you die you'll go to Heaven... *You* will come to *me*!"

Now if you want to get right down to destructive power as I see some of you have been debating on here, I'd have to vote Brolly from DBZ movie 7. Now a normal human being's total strength (inner and outer) is rated at 5 and this dude was born with a power level of 10,000! To make matters worse he was completely insane and could only be controlled by his father with a device mounted on his head. As an adult he became so enraged at the mere sight of Goku (yes it's personal) that he broke free of the mind controll device and powered all the way up to SS level 2! Goku, Trunks, Gohan and Vegeta were like nats to him and *all* of them were super saiyans! Even Piccolo was no help! On top of that Goku did a Kame-ha-meah (powerful enegy projection) right in the guys face and nothing happened! The dude even blew up a near by planet with an enegy projectile that didn't even need powering up and then makes a joke about it to some of it's enslaved inhabitants! Talk about cruel!

The villians that you truely hate with a passion and want to take them on yourself are always the best ones!

Well, Sadako from Ringu creeped the Hell out of me. The US equivalent, Samara, was not quite as psychologically compelling, but still petrified me and my friends in the cinema.

Best villain, though? Mugatu, the villainous fashion designer from Zoolander! I mean, come on, take this classic extract from one of the trailers:

"...soon, the world will know the name of Mugatu, and I will bless them with my cruelty! *into tape recorder* Ooh, note to self: trademark the word cruelty for a new line of menswear. *pause* Oh, and buy the new Shania Twain album."

i can't believe i forgot to mention the most villianous villian ever! Anyone remember a little 'ol movie called Virtuosity with Denzel Washington and the guy from the Gladiator? Well, in the movie, takes place in the future, where they make a guy (sorta) outta nanobots. Which means, you can shoot him up and cut him up, and he can just get some glass, and use it to regenerate body parts, sweet huh? not only that, but they made him have the personalities and memories of every serial killer and evil phyco ever. This super villian was named simply Sid. Now can ya beat that? lol.

surprised nobody mentioned the mostunnoticed villian in the cartoon world. Eric Cartman. he's one evil SOB, especially in the episode named "Scott Tenorman Must Die" that episode will remind you to never piss him off.

Basil Rathbone´s Villiains

OK folks, my friends at work and I had this discussion so I figured I'd start it here. Who is your favorite movie villain?

Perhaps I´m a little old-fashioned, but I think the most wonderful villiains were played by a magnificent actor called Basil Rathbone. Every time I see "The adventures of Robin Hood" I enjoy Basil´s perform (sir Guy of Gisbourne). And there is a little piece of advice: see "The sign of Zorro" (Rouben Mamoulian, 1940), and especially the swordfight between Tyrone Power (don Diego Vega) and Basil´s character (captain don Esteban Pascual).

My favorite bad guy has to be the Joker from Batman. Jack played the role better than Cesar Romero ever did. He had a great sense of humor about the morbid side of life and killed without thought. I believe Batman had his hands full. This character actually gave me the creeps at first. Just an opinion.

well mine would probably be a tie between jack nicholson's joker (he was so sinister fanfuckintastic) and general zod in the richard donner film of the late 70's

Hellayeah is Gary Oldman a kickass actor! One of the best. I think the antagonist from The Proffesional was a really cool antagonist.

I also think that one of the coolest movie antagonists ever is Maleficent, from Sleeping Beauty

Favourite bad guy: Jules Winnfield in Pulp Fiction (played by Samuel L. Jackson). There are so many cool bad guys in Pulp Fiction, but Jules brings cool to a new level. There's a lot of depth to his character too.

Favourite bad girl: Go Go Yubari in Kill Bill (played by Chiaki Kuriyama). She was the crazy chick dressed as a Catholic school girl swinging around a big mace. O-Ren Ishii (Lucy Liu) comes in a close second for her role in that same movie. Something about seeing an amazingly hot female as the head of a group of mob families. Not to mention her swordwork 🙂
