Holy cow....WAY TOO MANY!!!
I mean, there was rarely a bad song by any 80's Hair Band (Warrant, Poison, Motley Crue, Cinderella, Stryper, Firehouse, Ratt, Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Winger, Slaughter, Whitesnake, Kiss, Def Leppard....the list goes on and on)...so none of them can be excluded. But then you've got your groovy pop too... "She-Bop" by Cyndi Lauper, "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell, "Relax" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood, "Wouldn't It Be Good" by Nick Kershaw, "Don't Break My Stride" (artist's name escapes me at the moment), "Roseanna" or "99" by Toto, ANY SONG by Chicago, ANY SONG by Rick Springfield, "Rapture" by Blondie, ANY SONG by Heart, "After All" by Cher and Peter Cetera, "Seperate Lives" by Phil Collins and Marilyn Martin, "You've Got It All" by the Jets, the ENTIRE soundtrack for Footloose....bands like Lover Boy, Night Ranger, Styx, Simple Minds, Glass Tiger, The Fixx, Queen, The Outfield, Berlin, The Motels, can't forget Michael Jackson.....omg I could be here all day if I continue.
If I absolutely had to narrow it down though, to sum up the 80's for me, it would probably come down to either "Bust A Move" by Young MC (I still just wanna get up and dance every time I hear that song), or "One Night in Bangkok" by Murray Head. Just classic.
