Hello, hello.

As it’s been a while since anybody created a music thread, I thought I would give it a go! Don’t think any explanations are needed – thread title says it all, really!

Anyone?

Cheeyers. 🙂

In the realm of pop music, I would say Mason Williams's Classical Gas.

But I'm not really one for pop music (at least not since Mason Williams's heydey). I prefer Celtic, modern and trad.

You can't go wrong with Brenda Stubbert's Reel

Two of my favorites (pardon my Yankee spelling), although I can't remember how to embed a youtube video at the moment.

Cliff Nobles and co. -The Horse

Santo and Johnny -Sleepwalk

Eric Johnson - Cliffs Of Dover

Eric Johnson - Manhattan

Buckethead - The Rising Sun

Buckethead - Soothsayer

Eric Johnson and Booker T & the M.G.s .....yes yes yes. I have to start digging....

The Champs.

Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass.

Everyone's favorite panther, written by Henry Mancini.

Just about anything from Herb & the Brass......

A few....
Allman Bros. Band (yeh, the album version...)

a bit of lite jazz - Chuck Mangione

Horslips: an Irish band from the mid to late 70's; based much of their early stuff on traditional Irish music, until they were convinced to go "pop" (which basically killed them). The first is from their early days, and most likely live. The second (think it's posted on another thread), is later, and "instrument-synched" - I know well the recorded version, and the video isn't live. But, who cares?

Let me try a few others.....

the M.T.B.

the Alan Parsons Project had a few, among them

Another favorite from the obscure band Horslips

Metallica's "Call of the Ktulu" springs to mind. Especially the S&M version of it, these strings sound so good!

Great music guys, some I've heard before and some I hadn't until now.

Phil Coulter - Skye Boat Song {Isle of Skye scenery, Scotland} Outlander theme is mixture of Skye Boat Song along with the lyrics from Sing Me A Song From A Lad Who Has Gone by Robert Louis Stevenson.

Derek & Brandon Fiechter - Scottish Battle Song - Scottish Clan {Eilean Donan castle}

Also enjoyed the Michael Manring performance! Quickly checked out some of his other stuff, but wasn't as keen, if I'm honest. Something about that track though...

Enjoyed Sleep Walk by Santo & Johnny, too. Was interested to learn that it was, supposedly, the main inspiration behind another very popular instrumental: Albatross by Fleetwood Mac.

And of course who could dislike Green Onions! (This really warrants a culinary-themed joke... But I can't be arsed to come up with one. lol)

Here's a few from the early 60s. The Telstars.

The Surfaris.

The Tornadoes.

Ah yes the early 60's...

Coming back to the 70's, one from a French dude

and two from an obscure British band

Fire On High has some vocals but I think it works here.

Now for a complete about face..

Jefferson Airplane - Embryonic Journey

rdhd, love that "Imaginary Voyage" album, that was a nice surprise to see that one!

Terry Riley: A Rainbow In Curved Air
Best listened to on headphones; hypnotic, dazzling, energizing....a real rush! Also great during sex...and acid trips! lol

Chuck Berry: Deep Feeling
After that last one, this one is like having a cigarette. A great b-side featuring Chuck on latch-key guitar. Deep Feeling, indeed!
