Featherstone Mansion (RPG Maker VX)

Just a quick question, what are the 50 golds for? I mean I got the feather from the chest, but what does that change?

spoiler:if you got the feather you can unlock the secret ending, if you haven't the feather you can't unlock the secret ending

Alright, think I've gotten a list of most of the bugs/errors people have been given me (thanks for the feedback). Since I'm going to be busy come Monday I probably won't have to time to correct any bugs so I'll try and make a polished version of the game before then.

Since I have some time off tomorrow, I may get round to making a few additional scenes based on some the suggestions you guys have been making, it all depends on what comes up tomorrow.

Thanks for the positive feedback too, means alot.

This game was really just a little rpg maker experiment that I got a little carried away with and thought 'You know what? I can make a game of this!'. Heck, I only started fiddling around with poser programs because I knew I couldn't draw for toffee but wanted some form of cg even it was a little amateur. Hopefully it gives some people out there inspiration or ideas to make their own games or contribute to the tickle fetish in their own way (damn that sounds corny). If not then hey, at least I gave you guys something fun to play. 🙂

Euuugghhh.... Just got around to checking this out.

Looked at the screenshots.

One thing that really grinds my gears: Photoshopping anime style characters/things into actual photograph backgrounds, and vice versa. It just grates on my nerves in the the worst of ways.

I'm over-the-moon anal about graphics consistency.

Like that one game that was made in RPGMaker, but had actual photographs of women for sprites and event CG. That annoyed me to the point of ripping out and replacing every single graphical asset in the game. Manually.

It's not nearly as bad here though. Just slightly irritating.

Awesome, looking forward to it!

To be honest, I didn't even notice it in this game. I haven't been able to get through the whole game yet, but so far, I feel like it's been tastefully done in this one (and that's speaking as another stickler for graphical consistency.)

Plus he did say that he can't draw, so he's got to work with what he has, right?

Just started playing, and I gotta say, I'm really digging the whole Clocktower/Luigi's Mansion vibe (nice music choice by the way). And though I love a bad ending as much as anyone, not having to deliberately lose and juggle saves is pretty nice (especially with a checkpoint system). I also love the work you put into the tickle scenes.

Glad you like it. The 'Dark Rooms' tune from Luigi's Mansion really does set a nice tone, a kind of light-hearted creepy track that I thought work well with the game. The other tracks are from 'Ah! My Goddess' which I found totally by fluke.

The photoshopped backgrounds in the tickle scenes are there because my laptop died awhile ago whilst carrying the needed mods (tables, stocks, racks, the works) so I improvised. Yeah I know, I'm an idiot for not keeping backups. I couldn't find the mods again so I had to work with what I had, Mellow hit the nail on the head. Sorry if they're a little lame.

Alright, nothing major here. Just a few slight bugs corrected and little things added. No scenes or anything due to laptop almost committing suicide (a good summer in England? What's going on...).

- Made it so the maid disappears when opening the door to the conservatory
- Option to skip the prologue
- Made it so that you know when the Ghostly Feather has been used
- Added more to the the closing scene
- Added access to the test room via scene select map (I may regret that)

As I said, I'm gonna be busy for a little while so I won't have time to update/fix stuff but I think most of the bugs have been squished.

Any tips on getting the bonus scene? Is there a point where you can't access it anymore?

I'm stucked

I'm stucked in that room where you find the melody list. When I try exit the room, the weird monster appears. I try to hide in the basket but it ever found me. Also, I tried all others objects in the room, and it looks like the only place to hide is the basket. Aynone could help me with that?

I'll give you a clue, because I think that is something that you should solve it

spoiler: the clue is: there are places where you can hide if you apply force several times, no matter if they are closed
PinkFizz, You can delete my post if you think I should not give clues 😉

Okay, I finished 🙂. Pretty cool. Here's some thoughts if you ever think about doing another one:
- Consider making events activated by touch, rather than using the action button. Just makes it easier on the player when searching for interactive elements
- Hide a little more than the required gold to get the secret. This alleviates the frustrating situation where the player ends up having to backtrack through the entire game searching for that one hidden spot that they missed the first time through.
- When you're spotted, make it so that the maid or whoever needs to catch you first to get a game over. Makes a little less sense story wise, but also makes the game less frustrating.
- During scenes, if you don't want to model the ticklers, then maybe write narratives describing what they're doing, and how the ticklee reacts.

That's all. Thanks a lot for making it and sharing with us!

Great game so far, one of the best I played !

Could anyone give me a hint where to apply the Cocktail? 😛

Fantastic stuff.

Beth's scenes (spoilers: featuring twins and squiggly) were phenomenal. Those reactions. w00t

Was also impressed with the attention to detail, e.g. the alternating lighting during the prologue.

There's no point in tickling a girl if she doesn't have a good reaction to it 😉. Glad you liked it.

So, I've had a little bit of time to start making a 'Bad End' scene along with minor improvements to the game to make it less frustrating to play. This is a tickle game after all so getting players through the game is a important, you guys were pretty much my only testers (for which I'm thankful for, you never notice this stuff yourself).

I'll have the update ready sometime tomorrow, it'll be the last update as I'm pretty sure I'm done with this little project. It was fun to make and share to a community which is often overlooked so thanks to you guys, I learned alot from it. Who knows, I might decide to make something else in the future. :stickout

Wow, I've only played the first few minutes, and I must say it has been a tRPG experience like no other. I love the little touches, like the floating feather loading screen, and the super simplistic menu (with no save button!) A truly thrilling experience, with a unique art direction. Looks tremendously good so far. Now onwards!

I hope the new version get's released today. :lol

New link is up (check original post). I should have put it up yesterday but life happened. Damn life!

This should be my last update, I wanna put a nice pink ribbon on this game and call it 'complete' for now. Go me. Anyway, list of stuff in this last update. Old save files won't work with it. It's a pain but you'll have to start over. Screw you rpg maker.

- Added a 'Bad End' scene if you get captured at the end.
- Added more gold around the mansion. Should be easier to get the needed 50 coins.
- Made it obvious what to interact with at certain points of the game.
- Fixed some annoying events that would change graphics upon interaction.
- Added a walkthrough document with the game files.

There was probably other stuff I could of added but I just wanna leave this project as it is now. Time to move on. As a little bonus I've throw the cg folder in rar form in the link below. Yahoo.

Hope you liked the game peeps. It was something I enjoyed working on in my spare time, bit by bit. One day I might get inspiration to make something completely different, but for now I'll just say 'we'll see'. 😉

Appreciate the link pink but it seems you uploaded the wrong one, when I opened it it was a bunch of cgs.

Nvm I'm retarded LOL

Just realized there's what I'm assuming is a laughing house easter egg in the dungeon.

nice game and nice endings 😉
but... I have a question.
Did you like putting the bad ending? I mean ... we know that you put it because your audience asked you, don't get me wrong, I liked the game, I liked the good ending and the bad ending, I only asking you, because I thought about creating my own games(normal games and tickle games)

and wanted to know the opinion of someone who had planned don't put a bad ending, so I wonder .... Did you like putting the bad ending?

Did I like putting in the bad ending? Tough question. Yes and no.

Yes because it was something that the game did lack, a consequence for getting caught that wasn't too long and fitted with the theme of the game nicely. It also wasn't too hard to put in so I knew I could fill that request for people quite easily.

No because I kinda didn't have the same drive to make it like I did the other scenes. It probably tells in the scene itself. Don't get me wrong, the idea for a bad ending was good, it just didn't occur me when making the game. One of the problems of making a game solo I suppose, lack of creative input from others.

Hope that answered your question.

Hi there, i'm having trouble with the game, when it start it up it crashes and has an error message: RGSS202E.dll could not be found

Did you install the RPG Maker VX RTP? This game uses VX, not the usual VX Ace, and they don't provide compatibility for each other.
