i'm glad too. jeez, after seeing some of the whacked out stuff on that chart ,i wish we weren't on it at all!

i also noticed a line linking tickling and s&m activities. if we are, i think it's a streach at most. we tickphiles are such happy people! see steph is smiling right now thinking about me tickling her softly in her underarms.😉

That's a really interesting chart. However, I find it hard to believe that tickling is near all of that other stuff. It's really pretty harmless compared to other things. And I feel what people do is their business, but I really don't think tickling is all that bad.

I believe that just because some fetishes have been identified, given names and are even listed on that chart, doesn't mean they should be accepted as normal, by any means.

I found the chart to be kinda hard to follow, but it's a very interesting read nonetheless. But I agree with Admiral Trouser in that it's probably inaccurate. It would be almost impossible to list absolutely everything correctly, as there's probably infinite variations of fetishes out there.

oh boy, thank you for saying it! it may seem hypocritical of us to point fingers (i don't think so) but some of that high weirdness is frightening! not to mention dangerous, and extremely unhealthy!
you were also accurate about variations; look at us. you have your foot people, and upper body people, those are sub-divided into socks, nylons, bare, toe nails polished, or bare, toes or soles, ets.. and upper body into subgroups; underarms, ribs, lower sides, bellybuttons, stomaches, breasts, necks, groin creases, genital tickling etc.. and those are just some of the "ler" groups, there's also the "lee preferences". i also found it disturbing that we are catagorized with spanking, and pain. i have found that tickphiles who are only tickphiles, and not bd/sm'ers too, are totally turned off by pain! i have heard it many times that pain has no business in a tickle session.

I'm trying to understand my fiance's tickling fetish... I love being tickled by him, but I do not understand what it is about it that turns him on. But I also don't get why this is seen as a fetish, a word that seems to have an inherently dark implication.

According to my Webster's New World Dictionary, the definition of fetish is: 1.) any object believed by superstitious people to have magical power; 2.) any thing or activity to which one is irrationally devoted; 3.) any nonsexual object, such as a foot, that abnormally excites erotic feelings.

Well, those definitions are wrought with judgement: "superstitious", "irrationally", "abnormally." I draw my own conclusions about what is superstitious and irrational, and personally I feel little right to judge anything as abnormal.

So, my conclusion is that tickling doesn't qualify as a fetish, just as a fun phenomenon that can delight, arouse and bring people closer.

But maybe I just don't get it!😕
