This is the one that started it all, kids....

...that slow, downward spiral into my own literary madness...

Dave, I know we've had our differences and much remains unresolved, but I have to say I've never seen writing like this on the TMF. This is like Frank Miller or Alan Moore. I'm definitely impressed, and I'm not even a fan of M/F.

Wow, I'm not sure what to say. To be able to reach someone I've had a history of not getting on with and who doesn't generally "do" M/F is something that, as a writer, moves me in a literary sense.

Funny you bring up Frank Miller. After people started commenting on the story lending itself to being made into a short film, Miller's works went through my head quite a bit. Should, in my wildest dreams, this ever wind up represented in that medium, I couldn't imagine it treated any other way than in that "black and white with splashes of color" way Miller does his graphic novels, and the way they filmed "Sin City".

Thanks.

Bladerunner meets AI after Armageddon, uniquely.

Glad this is date-stamped and documented here. Since my talent is stating the mundane obvious in run-on sentences I'll comment it may be adviseable to email a copy to yourself via a vanilla mailbox as well for intellectual property protection
if you don' t wish to refer to this site, as excellent as it is, for proof that this was your (brainchild, really no pun here either...) since this will almost certainly float mainstream in print or in film

--if that external date-stamping hasn't been done already, to avoid personal Kink Persecution in the vanilla marketing world
(even if that's included within the plot)
but of course the protagonist is damaged so *he might be excused for it...

Established literary giants have had their works & ideas stolen en masse & made into bestselling books, movies, etc., theft'd be even easier from semi-obscure websites such as this, even with several dozen witnesses....

Of all the comments I've received from this story that's taken on a life of it's own...that may very well be the best, at least in a certain way. To think others would be "after it" to claim it, what it represents, what's it's done or what it could be. Thank you, seriously.

However, all of my work is copyrighted. All of my art, all of my writing.

I have not spoken of this openly, as many things are still "in the works", but I have shopped this around a bit in several ways. In fact, while I won't name them until and if things get finalized, I submitted this to a site that represents a popular webring of successful BDSM sites. They have a "child-site" for BDSM-style writings and I was told they'd seen nothing like it. I wound up submitting a few of my other works from this year I consider my "serious" work and in short, there are considerations being...well, considered. It might require a regular work output, however, and I'm not so sure I can work that way.

Back when it was written, I also received a suggestion from Myriads to revamp the tickling into some other form of BDSM activity and suggested some more mainstream targets for publication.

And of course, if I could find a filmmaker in the fetish genre with a bold enough vision, the thought of pursuing this as a short is something I've contacted a few folks I know about.

All of this considered, and since it's my usual MO anyway, this is most certainly copyrighted. Believe me, if I were to see this "reworked" or appearing in a bastardized form on "Outer Limits" or something, I'm suing someone's ass off. :triangle:

SEEEEEEE!

this is why i support your nomination for story writing! DAMN DAVE!:wow:

I don't spend much time in the fiction section, so it too me a while to finally get around to reading the works of the top contenders for the Golden Feather this year, and I have to say this one is definitely my favorite...

I was initially put off by the beginning, as it's much darker than I'm accustomed to, but unlike other work I've seen around here, you developed a truly immersive world and really developed (and crippled) your character... It's a palpable piece of cyberpunk-noir. I could see the premise shooting off in several possible directions, and am curious to see what else this world may have in store for readers... Hopefully, we'll find out! 🙂

Excellent work and definitely worthy of the nod. Superb job, Dave. :smilestar
