The All American Girl

So few things are so exclusively American in our culture as country music and the hippy movement of the 60s-70s, so I'm using that as the roots for her development. The first image below is what I'm using as a basis. The deep tan, full lips, "generous" proportions, straw cowboy hat, but the hair will be cranberry red however, a much more "caucasian" feature than even blonde. The other images below are reference images I've been going over for her top, the silk hippy style blouse with the wide sleeves. Any particular style ya fancy? I'll probably come up with my own color and visual design combination but am just looking for the "cut" of the design to use to start with. I figured I'd round it off with bell bottom jeans, possibly with some patches of a peace sign, american flag, flowers and then strappy sandals....

hahaha like henna colored hair. 😛 I like it. 😀 When I picture a hippiesque type girl I think she should have a big hemp rope belt 🙂 As for the shirts I like the first one best. 😀

Hehe...I think I got the reference down for her school girl uniform! LOL (doesnt it just SCREAM "American Pop Culture"?) I'll just cross the way she wears the classic Catholic School Girls uniform with the Japanese Sailor Suit style....

Well yeah it would be the exact same uniform as Angel's except of the way she wears it, tied in the front with the belly showing with maybe a blue blazer (I've seen those with sailor-style school uniforms) over it, worn open. The hair would be different of course...don't want her to look too much like Titney...er...Britney....😛

This doesnt have to be completely grounded in logic anyway, it is anime after all....

You sure? Again that is kind of an American thing....and I'll tell you right now I definitly went to High School with girls that size. I know among asian people its not very common, but If anyone in the game is gonna be prematurely blessed, its the white girl! 😛 But If ya insist I will reduce them a bit...

And I also just recently noticed TomatoDragon's school nurse is a redhead. Hmmm....I could go PLATINUM blonde with her, like even lighter than Angels hair. Maybe some streaks of darker blonde. Or better yet, streeks of flourescent red or orange....hmm.....

Not complete but....

I just realized what time it is and I won't be finishing this tonight. So even though its not finished I'm posting it anyway. My final idea for miss all american girl. I was originally going to use this hairstyle for the girl next door but thought it would look cuter on this one. Plus I saw the same thing you did Ness, too much cowgirl, not enough hippy. So I evened it out a bit. 😀 (I left out the cowboy hat for this design but it will still be an optional piece of clothing)

Let's start with the answers:

Regarding the uniform: Britsjdisdush was very cute with this uniform, but it's too occidental, and also the idea ot have a uniform different from the other girl is acceptable, but not if it shows belly or other parts 🙂 is japanese culture, and a school is like a factory: each girl and boy wear the same uniform 🙂 they can wear in a different way, but we are talking about particolars, not to tie a shirt on the belly LOL 😀

I like this girl, but i prefer the second drawings with the hair of the first, coloured with blonde and red and orane 😀 if you watch on tv "that's '70 show" you can make a girl similar to "Donna" ...she's very hippy and '70 style 😀

For the rest i'm curious to see how i can put her in the game 😀 i'll wait the next veriosn and some emotions for the input mode 😀

Okay cool. I thought the little tails gave a hint of country gal, almost like Mary Anne from Gilligans Island...I'll do another version with the long hair and see how that works. (it wont be for a few days, I have homework and stuff) And do you like the silk blouse/bell bottom combo? If ya want I can go back to the original sketch with the long flowing patchwork dress.

I think that hair style would do better on the girl next door anyway....more fit for a tomboy and would look really good with the skater look.....maybe jet black on her though...

I'm also thinking realistically with everything I have to do now. The American Girl and Skater Girl Next Door will be my priority and if I have time I'll finish up the Bookworm, unless you guys like that idea more than the other two. Overall she is giving me the most trouble in the designing stages. I didnt think a character so simple could be so difficult...LOL. If another artist jumps on board and wants to do a similar idea (the shy, smart girl), please by all means let them.

I also have to start thinking of a name for this girl. Something very generic and American...like Jen, Becky, Kelly, etc....or maybe something a bit more country inspired, like "Bobby-Joe" or "Kelly-Anne"

If she retains the counry look I think "Bobby-Jo" is a great name! Though with the chest I feel "Booby-Jo" is more apropriate 😀 😀 😀
Otherwise something generically American like those you mentioned would be best. Maybe something that could be spelt extra cute with a flower dotting an I at the end or something. 😛
Oh yeah...personally I like the idea of the bookworm type girl more than the girl next door. 😛 Your call though 😀

Honestly if i must choose between 2 girl form the 3 that you're preparing my preference go to the sk8er/next door and the bookworm 😀 because those characters are more easy to include in the game enviroment; anyway i hope to see all of them inside the game; if is not possible do what you prefer 😀 for me is the same...we can add more girl in the future 😀

Boobie jo is ok 😀😀😀😀😀 the typical Californian girl must bee boobie-Jo LOL 😀 but also Sue-ellen or Amy-jo are very "redneck" ^_^
She must have a pick-up with all the flowers painted outside 😀 and in the back of the pick-up she have her home...a small place of course ^_^ (imagine a F-150 for the size) : this girl is a hippy, so she must not have aroom, but a place where the "action" can happen 😀

Love the idea for the VW Van and I love the name idea Amy-Joe....as for who I'm gonna do, I dunno. I'm just gonna keep working till I cant works no more and see what I can accomplish....

I'll be good. Something I just thought of. The first thing that popped into my head with "Amy-Joe" was like the furthest thing from American Pop-Culture; Amy Joe Johnson who played the Pink Ranger in the first season of Power Rangers! LOL

I'm gonna try and finish up the full set of facial expressions for the American Girl by tommorrow and get them out ASAP....
