Now I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but what games do you actually like. If I remember correctly you said you weren't a fan of the Final Fantasy Series, and now you are saying Halo, Mortal Combat and GTA are all over hyped. These are some of the most popular franchises on the market, and rightfully so in my opinion.

a game's selling well has nothing to do with its quality and everything to do with the marketing engines behind it (as is the case with, say, halo 2). most of the acutal innovation in game design right now is going on in the indy and freeware scenes.

(the final fantasy games have frustrating and forgettable gameplay and mortal combat is button-mashing nonsense with swap-palette characters. and though i suppose halo is a "solid" game, there's nothing innovative or unique about it. so there.)

nothing unique about halo...hmm its a shooter with a um ugh oh storyline...There was constant action. The level designs are huge. From start to finish, the entiire game was great. Then after single player campaign, you had massive amounts of multiplayer scenarios to choose from. Its all about the skill and how fast you can react.

I dont know, there hasnt been too many creative games out these days. Remember devil may cry 2, yeah enough said. If you want some fun rpgs...hmmm if you haven played knights of the old republic...well then wait for the second one. Final fantasy game have never been about the game play. Its about the interesting characters, storyline. In my opinion, ff4, 7, 8 10 were the best and ff online is a superb online game.

Im not trying to prove anyone wrong or cause arguments, just stating my opinion. If you dont like halo 2 i guess play metroid prime 2.

Well let me tell you all... I have it because I had it pre-ordered and I can't stop playing. The engine is even more intense and it gives quick a few twists. If you're into it then you'll love it, but if your not then ya know the answer to that one... Anyway to each their own, but I love it...

Koockie, Koo from MIA... 🙂

I didnt get a chance to read all the posts, but Ima add my 2 cents, then come back later and do that whole thing.

Anyway, halo 2 to me seemed more of a 1.5. It all belonged in the original, minus the story line and graphics update.

You know, games on the PC, their patchs usually add just about as much to the games, and for free. Seems a waste of money, if you ask me.

Ok Elf, good points. However...

Please explain what you meant by "It all belonged in the original, minus the story line and graphics update." See cause to me thats says "Yeah, everything was different but they kept the same characters."

Cause really, they revamped the battle system. Boarding vehicles and such. Shield recharging a hell of a lot faster. Jumping way higher. Not taking damage when falling from extreme heights. Dual wielding.

I dont wnana touch the story for fear of spoiling something for those who have yet to beat or play it.

But as far as the patches, Halo 2 is on xbox live. And We can/will recieve the same updates just like a comp game would have. Also they have a much better system of ranking of score tracking then i have ever seen on any comp game. I can still go back to the very first game I played by logging on to the bungie site find out who was in the game how many kills they had, who killed me and how many time i killed them, medals, assists, duration, average life span. pretty much everything and ive played over 80 games.

I mean its all a matter of opinion though. If your a devote PC gamer youll automatically have a biased when a console game comes out and visa versa.

As for me, I'll play either. The way I see each side only has 1 clear cut advantage over tyhe other. On PC you will always have more buttons then a console. But on a console you will always have = ground for lag and such. Cause unlike a PC where everyones system specs are different, your all on even ground with a console. that and so far it has not been possible to play online and gt away with hacking on a console.
