July 15th!
I have my calander marked! Is anyone as excited as I am?
I think this movie looks really good, and I am going to read the book every day until the movie. (So far I have read it 4 times, I started in April)

The scene where Harry and Dumbledore go to the rocky place in search of the first Horcrux looks the best. This movie has great special effects, and animation that looks amazing like when the Bridge of London collapses.
And does anyone know who plays Slughorn?

I love Harry Potter series because it has so many evil, dark times, but it still has the classic teen love, loyalty, and fights.

WARNING: For those of you who have not read the books but saw the movies, you will cry at the end. We all do. Someone great dies. I shall not say who, for I dont want to ruin the suprise

*Starts sobbing loudly*

Oh, for 3 really good trailers, go to harrypotter.com
And for exclusive Harry Potter things, go to mugglenet.com

HOLY FREAKING CRAP!!! I loved the 6th book, but the movie trailer is...........DAMN! I HAVE to see this movie!!!:woot2:

Spoiler warning...

DUMBLEDORE DIES!

now, why would you post a spoiler like that without at least giving a bit of warning, Artoo?

This is the book where Snape goes from being a peculiar minor character to being possibly the most dynamic character in the whole series.

I'm really looking forward to how Alan Rickman portrays this transformation. I've always liked him as an actor, and this part was essentially made for him. (Rowling apparently even said he was her first choice for the character.)

I'll never understand why people think it's cute to ruin things for other people. I can appreciate it when somebody drops a spoiler by mistake or aren't really giving the matter any thought when they post/say something, but to do it on purpose, i really don't get.

Sorry.

I've fixed it now! 😀

The same reason people stood in line with their copy of Book 7 and read the last page of the book outloud while others were waiting to get their own copy. People enjoy ruining others' fun. Sad...

Well, for what it's worth, his death isn't what is surprising. It's who kills him and how (and later, why).

The best thing about Rowling's stories is that they are complex enough that no one plot point sums up their purpose or theme. The best stories are too complicated to ruin with one spoiler.

Oh c'mon. The book's been out for years.
That spoiler is old hat.

Artoo, despite the fact that the book has been out for years, some people do not read the books but watch the movies instead. Others go out of their way to advoid such spoilers, and are usually fairly succusful at it, until you have situations where either somebody just blurts it out on accident, or intentionally to ruin peoples surprise.

I agree. But for those who don't read the books (and you really really should if you haven't) - then it's more than a spoiler. It defeats the very essence of the watered down movies. I know several who watch the films only. So, yeah, this would be like telling someone Vader is Luke's father. Why do it?

All right, I'm done griping.

True... Although I would think even the movie would convey the complexity of the reasoning for his death (or at least the last 2 movies will).

If nothing else, the decision to turn the last book into 2 films implies that they actually will do the end justice by explaining more of the subplots.

Well, the way I figure, there's so much action in the finale, they will want to milk that for all it's worth. I picture them breaking it down to Xmas/Godric's Hollow for an ending for the first flick and then picking up with the aftermath for the second.

BTW, I like the use of "invisible ink" for those who want to offer up some spoilers for the sake of discussion - then only those who wish to know could "reveal" the info.

Yeah, you're right. On the other hand, it is only a book, and not the end of the world.
And, as Macphisto said, his death isn't the surprising part of the plot.

Thanks! I didnt realize so many peoplehere like Harry Potter!
Im gonna try to get into the midnight showing.
And please dont put a spoiler that freakin big here!

I went to the midnight showing for the last film - pick a smaller theater and it's usually very doable. I got the tickets online 🙂

Ok, well where I live there are tiny but very nice clean theaters. They should work, thanks. I know I definatly am going to the midnight showing of at least one of the two Deathly Hallows movies. I cant wait.
