I saw Bill Clinton once when I was living in Kansas City. He was in town to speak to the national VFW convention and I happened to be downtown when his motorcade passed by on Broadway. A few years ago I caught a glimpse of Robert De Niro when he was in Austin working on a film.

When I was living in Houston I met and talked to Earl Campbell and Elvin Bethea (both in the NFL Hall of Fame) several times. Nice guys, both of them. Now I'm a big man, but when I shook hands with Elvin my hand looked small in comparison. A friend of mine who had been an equipment manager for the Oilers owned a sports bar and a lot of current (at the time) and former NFL players would stop by when they were in town to see Buddy and his wife Betty.

Played one on one with George McGinnis, an old school basketball player. Didn't know who he was and he kicked my ass. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_McGinnis

Saw Paris Hilton and Neyo last year while partying in Vegas.

Partied with the 2004 Steelers. No Rothlisburger but the girl I found earlier was dating me and him at the same time was in attendance.

Used to see Amare Stoudemire out all the time in Phx.

Met Larry Fitzgerald before he was famous and an NFL great.

One of my best friends was on a reality TV show(big brother) and through him I met a few other reality TV personalities.

Can't think of any others off the top of my head....hmmm

Ha! Many years ago, (talking 1960s here) my older brother played in a game against the Harlem Globetrotters and was given the task of guarding Meadowlark Lemon. He later said the only time he saw the ball was at tip off. :laughhard:

I've seen quite a few. Keeping with the OP here, though, I saw DeNiro sitting in the bar that he owned in Tribeca in 1985, on a Friday night, after I had left work. I thought he was entitled to his privacy, and I did not approach him.

It wasn't that bad but I was pretty pissed afterwards. At this point I was a pretty good ball player and had hopes to walk onto my D1 basketball team. I was playing around and there was this old guy and his daughter shooting around on the opposite basket. I noticed that every once in a while the old man would stop and look at I practiced. Finally he came over to challenge me. I thought "does this old man want to die?" But he was taller and bigger than I so I accepted. I think I tried to dunk on him the first play....and was soundly blocked. His jumper....unstoppable. Mine....stoppable. I kept it close...but he was better then me. When we finished he told me I had "heart". His very attractive daughter smiled at me..but I felt terrible. It wasn't till later that a buddy let me know that he was once an ABA/NBA great. Funny!

I've spoken and shaken hands with famous baseball players such as Sandy Koufax and the late Duke Snider.

I also shook hands with former NYC Mayor Ed Koch.

Yes. Many people.

As I've posted before, my father was business manager for the rock group Kiss from 1973 to 1980 or 1981. I met all the group members, several times, with and without their makeup, at concerts, and other places.

Willie Mays. I met Mr Mays when he was a greeter at a hotel in Atlantic City that my parents and I were staying at, in the late 1980s.

Rob Lowe. I saw him at the Hard Rock Cafe in LA in 1985. His bodyguards wouldnt let us get that close to him, but, he was a few feet away from me.

Former NBA star Scottie Pippen. I saw him with a friend at Planet Hollywood in Chicago, in 1994.

Former NY mayor Ed Koch. I saw him in a NY resturant once, and a late friend of my father's, who was a lawyer, walked up to him, and shook his hand.

Movie director Michael Cimino, director of the 1970s Academy Award winning movie, The Deer Hunter. He was my father's client for 20 plus years, from the early 1960s, to the early 1980s.

The late tennis player Arthur Ashe. My college charity orginization, Circle K, raised money for his AIDS foundation. He came to a dinner with our club, and gave a speech afterward. I got to sit near him, and shake his hand.

Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Not counting the baseball players I got autographs of at spring training camps.

You have to watch out for us old guys, we can be pretty sneaky. We've had more time to pratice. 😉

I saw Helen Flanagan (UK soap hottie) coming out of asda a couple of months ago, she lives near me, and also Andrew Whyment who plays Kirk in Coronation Street and Darren in the Royle Family lives a few hundred yards down the road. Christopher Eccleston lives near my girlfriend and we've nearly run him over a couple of times when he's been out jogging. Gerard Kearns of 'Shameless' fame is one of my neighbours and I've also met lots of footballers, including Gary Neville, Eidur Gudjohnsen and Kevin Nolan. Jay-Jay 'So good they named him twice' Okocha also lived near me in his Bolton Wanderers days but I never got to meet him. Same for El Hadji Diouf. Peter Kay lives also about a mile away from my house but living in the north of England that's all you're likely to see really!

I've met and talked with John Candy (rip) and many musicians and hockey players over the years.

Roger Hodgson from Supertramp, The Ramones, Jeff Healy... a bunch of other Canadian bands (used to work at a concert hall).

Met Ricky Henderson and George Bell briefly back in the day the Blue Jays played in the Ex.

Wayne Gretzky, Steve Thomas, Wendal Clarke, Gary Roberts and Joe Niewendyke... Tie Domi, Darryl Sittler and Lanny MacDonald 😀

I sold Steven Tyler of Aerosmith a PS3 at my work. I've also met and had full conversations with Adam D of Killswitch Engage on a few occasions. Good times.

The majority of celebrities I've met were athletes mostly of the Boston Bruins

Ray Bourque, Andy Moog, Bobby Orr, Milt Schmidt, Brad Park,

Non Athletes were Peter Tork ( The Monkees ) Steven Tyler ( Aerosmith )

I met Lewis Black, Dave Attell and Mitch Hedberg after seeing them live, had a brief conversation even. They were all very friendly.

I also saw Ian McKellan perform in a play in London, which was AMAZING.

Talked to Mickey Mantle on an airplane once. I was in the Navy and got bumped up to first class. He was some kind of cool.

I've met Hal Sparks after one of his comedy shows.

Recently I met Declan Baldwin (not related as far as I know to the rest of the Baldwins) at a local movie screening. He has been a big producer for the last 35 years. He worked on Night of the Live Dead, The Education of Charlie Banks, American Splendor, and Adventureland. I got the chances to be at a small q & a he hosted at the screening of his new film The Best and the Brightest (which is hilarious by the way. I was in years from laughing do hard) It was a really awesome experience and he was incredibly nice.

Shook James Randi's ("The Amazing Randi") hand and thanked him for his work. 🙂 Saw Nelson Mandela on a detour to Oxford during a trip through Great Britain. Just crossed paths that day.

The Dalai Lama . Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich Spike Milligan ,South African golf legend Gary player, british comedian Ronnie Corbett plus a few lesser stars seen in the street during the Edinburgh festival.

I didn't meet them technically, but I was in New York City on an NBC tour or some such and Shia LeBeouf and Avril Lavigne were rehearsing for an SNL sketch, I believe. We couldn't meet them due to that, but it was still interesting to see them, mostly LeBeouf in hindsight since he hadn't done Disturbia quite yet, I'm rather sure, or any of his other recent movies.

I've seen and spoken to a crapton of famous people through my work that I don't think I could list them all off. The three most memorable ones are Steven Tyler telling my buzzed-headed self to go get a hair cut, having a brief conversation with the now Mrs. Carrie Underwood-Fisher AND Mrs. Hillary Duff-Comrie while escorting them out of the building, (Different times spoken, escort at same time) and the any and all figure skating stars proved to me that they are truly regular people - working dressing room for Stars on Ice when Calgary was playing in the playoffs, Jamie Sale comes in and asks us what the score is. I say it's 3-2 Detroit, Kipper let in a soft one and Sale says FUCK. We all laugh and she goes to her dressing room.

Robertson Davies (One of Canada's greatest writers, and he bought me lunch.), Peirre Berton, (another of Canada's greatest writers), Gordon Lightfoot, Peter Noone, of "Herman's Hermits, " the British rock group, "The Searchers," Gerry Marsden of "Gerry and the Pacemakers," Peter Asher and Gordon Waller, of the singing duo, "Peter and Gordon," Chad Stewart and Jeremy Clyde, of the singing duo "Chad and Jeremy,", I saw "The Beatles", perform in Vancouver, "Peter, Paul and Mary", "Nana Mouskouri", Canadian singer "Rita McNeil", "Rick Hanson" and a number of others.

I have met most of them either from my work/school or filming in my town.
Sean Patrick Thomas (Save the Last Dance)
Bam Margera, Johnny Knoxville, StevO, Ryan Dunn (Jackass)
Dicky Knowles (Phillies Pitcher 1979-1981) I laced his baseball glove!
Kimmo Timonen (Flyers defensman)
Carson Kressley (Queer Eye for the Straight Guy)
Matt Schaub (QB for Houstan Texans)
Cole Hamels (Phillies Pitcher)
I was at the taping of Marley and Me. I was in touching distance of Jenniser Aniston and Owen Wilson.
Asher Roth (Rapper-I Love College)
Carbon Leaf
Enter the Haggis
Jason Castro (American Idol season 7-the cute guy with the dreads)

thats all I can remember right now

First off, Hilary Duff spells her name with one l 😛... and I'm jealous of you for meeting her (yeah I know, that's weird, that's the person ou listed that I'm jealous of you meeting lol) Although I need to keep up because I don't think I knew that she was married lol...

Although meeting Steven Tyler would be cool.
