Hello Forum

That's a shame, it was a good idea and it should have been given more of a chance. Most forums have an "introduce yourself" style area for posting your first thread and getting welcomed...it always baffled me why there wasn't one on here being such a large forum. When I saw it for the first time yesterday I thought, "About time!",lol. I always felt about guilty posting my intro posts in the Tickling Discussion area, but since most people seemed to do that I followed along.

Anyway, although I don't fully understand the situation, I hope it may come back again one day. In my opinion it makes sense to have a Hello section . 🙂

I created the hello forum because I felt that it was a good idea that would make new folks feel welcome, and in general promote the building of the community as a whole. That's what I always try to do here on the TMF. Find ways to make people feel more included. To make users feel welcome.

I get on today and what do I see? Strife and snideness. I got a lot of opinions in PM's. It's pretty clear that the Hello forum is not going to do what I wanted it to. It's only adding to the 'clique' debate, and dividing people more.

So I killed it. Chalk it up to me making a bad call. I apologise to the people who posted there, and took the time to reply to any posts made there. But I'm putting it away as an idea that did not work.

Hellos can return to Tickling and General Discussion.

End of story.

A pity the idea fell through, but many ideas fall through.

If it was simply adding to rising tensions within the forum then it is a good thing it has gone - it would be nice if people on this forum could get on with each other a little better sometimes, it all seems kind of...petty, to me. Like a kid who wanted a 99 flake, ends up with a twister and complains about it.

But, I digress. I respect your decision, Myriads. I'm sure we'll all cope 😉
