Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a collection of tickling illustrations featuring the use of the Archie characters. I seem to remember there was a Yahoo! Group that had a whole slew of them, but alas, my computer crashed a few months ago and I cannot seem to find them again.
Any help would be appreciated!

You also posted this in the Original Artwork forum. Since you've hardly posted, it's understandable that you did something you shouldn't do--post the same thread in more than one forum. Next time, please don't do it, as the moderators might not like it and delete your post. Just trying to help, don't take it personally 🙂

Each tim I attempt to access Quiller's new address, I continually get a "Site Busy" error... an it's five in th morning! Is it just my ancient comp or the site?

AAAAAHHH!!!

I'm going nuts! Each time I try to access the site, I only get this "Site Busy" crap. I want to enter this site and it seems that my dinosaur of a comp just won't let me in... any help or advice as to why I'm getting this "Site Busy" error message?
Anyone else getting it???😕 :Grrr:

Quite awhile ago there were more Archie and friends pics posted in sequence suitable for animating such as the ones above. Do you have any of them?

Hi again.

The site busy problem was some visitor limiting code I put on the site when the bandwidth use was getting a bit high. I've removed it now and so you shouldn't have any more issues.

I think the images you are referring to were from a section I closed due to it using excess bandwidth. The frames were drawn seperately and made into an animation on an Amiga. When transferring to the pc I tried a brief flirt with animated gifs but the file sizes were to big in my opinion so I didn't bother.

I get my hosting for free from a friend and so in return I try to generate as little bw as possible so as not to affect the commercial sites on his server. That's why I won't post any mpgs etc.

Thanks for the offer but I'll pass. I'm not a great fan of Groups - to much work to put things into and get them out of. As a distribution medium they leave much to be desired.

You have some really great material in your group but did you notice that Yahoo is editing the images on download? Take the 4-24 update album - first image April-Cover. The file size is listed as 322Kb yet if you download it it comes out at 85K. What's happened to the rest of the image?

It might be just me but if I create an image I want to be the one setting the format. Which brings things back to creating animated gifs - to make an animation work the frames need to be reduced in size. That defeats the purpose of making them that size initially.

As far as animation goes. I have a program which enables me to animate at the original size if you wish to see some of your creations animated. (see pic below)

I have an account with room so I would be happy to host them for you.

I now have software that would allow full frame anims at most screen sizes. I don't think it's worth the effort for so few frames - the longest being under 20 images. I realised some time back that this was a very time intensive way of producing images and even more so for animations and gave up. If you want to join these and host them then it's OK with me.

The images are still on the site and can be viewed at the vault. I can't see more than a couple of pieces that can be re-animated. Please be aware that many of the images are so alike that I can't remember what the changes are or why a new image was made. Alot are just substituting different characters into the scene.

Quite a shock looking through those - one of a girl that used to sit opposite me on the train in the morning, years ago.
