How do you feel about "THE WORD"

Can't say the word, can't discuss it. Hearing it makes me feel awkward/surprised, like getting hit by lightning or something (especially the few times a woman admits she is ticklish... wow, my brain just shuts off.)

Funny, because I'll discuss just about anything else under the sun, sarcastically or not.

In fact, if you studied my behaviors/actions/words one could probably discover my fetish rather easily.

my ears perk up when i hear it but i can say it just fine. When i hear tickle or ticklish i tend to make a bee line to the person who said it, although its a bit more discreet than that lol

I have a massive, massive fear of saying the word 'tickle' around my friends and family! It's so weird, I can't control it.

I get a bit wide eyed whenever one of my friends drops it into a conversation too. Its so funny!

The ppl around me never do notice but i start shifting in my chair and I fidget with anything i can find just to trick myself into thinking i havn't heard the word LOL.

Weird I know!

I hate saying it - it never comes out easily for me - saying tickle or any variation thereof always makes me feel like I'm 13 and i'm swearing and I'm about to get caught by my parents LOL I almost want to whisper it.

Sounds like what it is.

Some words are also onomatopoetic

--the word or name (onoma=name, Greek), it sounds like what it is....
(as most of you already know)

Which is why certain "curse words" sound so effective,
they have sharp edges or blunt force -- F-UCK!!! rather than F-UDGE!!!

...this one has "t-ickles" (tickles or prickles....) and when pronounced,
it's often almost felt. It's actually difficult to write it sometimes.

I'm usually also worried I'll react outwardly to give away the interest,

and if someone uses it who I find totally repulsive, I feel sick to my stomach... such as a family member :xlime:
One rather disgusting older male relative may just have the same fetish, I'm afraid,
and I get totally nauseated on the rare occasion he uses the terminology.
Worse, I'm afraid this revolting relative may have recognized my discomfort, even more repugnant.

With anyone I've found interesting it was just a bit embarrassing, however foolish that might've been. (Along with the simultaneous hope that gent would share the interest...)

oh it's so fun to see that others react the way I used to do.
Some years ago I had so trouble using the words "tickle", "ticklish" or "tickling" (or kile, kilen and kiling as it's sayd in Norwegian). Have no idea why but I have to be because I have a fetish for it. I had the same thing for the word "barefoot" as well... 😕

I have to deal with the word 'tickler' all day at work.
Whenever anyone sends a 2nd or 3rd message to a bank or customer, it is called a 'tickler' & I hear this word from VERY hot women.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who feels like this! Thanks for all the replies!!!!!

Oddly enough, the only people I can say "the word" around seems to be you guys. I feel funny saying to anyone in my vanilla life.

I'd rather say Voldermort.

Personally, I think that's brilliant! From now on, we can all refer to tickling as "Voldermort". It will be code that only this community understands. 😀

Not to be too much of a geek, but its spelled "Voldemort."

word.

lol, i know where your all coming from. Just hearing it sends shivers up and down my body. And it pretty rare when i say it too.

i find it embarrassing to say it.
don't know why 😀...................................................

I get really embarressed too, wishfoot! I turn bright red and get a goofy grin on my face 😀 much like this one....

Since the launch of TMF Radio, I realized I had to get over the problem I had with saying the word out loud. I'm fine with talking about it on the radio now, as when you host a show, you kind of have to put on a bit of an act anyway. I just pretend I'm someone that isn't shy.

Although, talking personally to someone, it's very hard to get the word out. If you asked my boyfriend, he'd tell you I've never said the word, and we've been dating for almost a year.

Yea i agree. Getting over saying it can be a pain in the ass....

Wow...

I had no idea so many of us had issues saying 'tickle'.

I guess I probably don't use the word much in real life. Just doesn't have too much application for me in my rl world.

But hearing someone say it is sooooooo awesome. I find all variants of the word to be oh so very sexy. Especially if spoken slowly and deliberately.

Unfortunately a lot of my female friends know it - since I'm not too shy about my interest around my close buds. And they exploit it horribly and totally push my buttons.

Damn my libido!

lmao.

B

I feel uncomfortable talking and hearing about it when I'm around people who are not away of my fetish for it.

I also was unaware that so many people had trouble with the word.

I must say, I feel better knowing that so many other people struggle with "the word" as well.
That was one of the main things that made me feel so strange b4 I discovered this community.
I used to think I was the only "Weirdo" around that both loved it, but couldn't bear to say the word at the same time.!!! lol 😱 :rotate:
