That's a good question 🙂 Originally, I disabled Java as a temporary workaround when I was having trouble installing the Microsoft JScript 5.6 security patch. However, I found that having Java disabled greatly increases privacy when browsing, and also blocks nearly all pop-up ads 🙂 Now, although I finally got JScript 5.6 installed, I only allow Java on my Trusted Sites list (those sites where Java is necessary for functioning, like Yahoo and MSN Groups).nessonite said:Just out of curiosity, why would you not have Java enabled?
I recommend a visit to www.junkbusters.com for a critique of Java, and a self security audit at www.anonymizer.com with Java enabled, then disabled, to find out how much information your browser can leak to websites. It's kinda scary.
Luv to all,
