I know I'm in the minority here because I've never yet met anyone who shares this opinion, even online. I have three rules with the horror movies I watch. 1. No overuse of gore. 2. As few jump scares as possible. 3. No self awareness or cheese. I know movies of all genres can BECOME cheesy as they age, but I've only very rarely seen that happen.

I find slasher movies to be obnoxiously boring. I get nothing out of them. Though at least with the "Zombie Horror" there can be some good creepy make-up effects, so that's something at least.

Also, hello fellow Sydney Australian tickle fan!

I like it, but that's probably because of all the buxum women who end up exposing their buxumness... that and the clearly the intellectual content of a guy in a goalie mask avenging the death of his psychopathic mother on Friday the 13th.

I'm the same way. It's not because I "can't handle it" or whatever people usually want to attribute it to. It's more that it just does little for me. I either want it to be deeper and more intellectually stimulating than it is, or even sillier or funnier than it is. Whatever it usually tries to be just falls flat for me.

Though, when you just come out and say it like that, it does make me reconsider my opinion, if only for a minute 😂

Sorry for the typos... I was assaulted by Auto Correct... he or she can be as vile as Freddy sometimes. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm ok with zombies as long as the heroes (or at least SOME of the heroes) come out alive and have a relatively happy ending.
Zombieland was pretty funny. As for slasher and gore, no, no f'ing way. It's no fun to watch. As for sci-fi horror, there are very few ones I enjoy. Aliens was good (even though Alien 3 freaking ruined it), several of the Predator franchise were amazing, and John Carpenter's The Thing is extremely well done for a movie that relied on puppetry and claymation.

I honestly tried to see every horror film that I can within reason, and while I will agree that slasher films are often not very original I can still enjoy them although I think zombie films are better because I think that I like stories that have more of a supernatural twist as a person who writes horror myself.

What did you think of the walking dead?
